Just make sure you have the software for playing Blu-ray discs (I use Leawo Blu-ray Player, which is free). Works fine. The only thing I don’t like is that it keeps making sounds (as long as it is plugged in), as if it’s trying to read a disc even if there’s no disc loaded.

Very good DVD/ Blu-ray burner/player. I highly recommend it. Very compact and quiet, it easily fits into your laptop bag along with all the other accessories. Everything the Pioneer makes is top-notch, and this is no exception. It's definitely a five-star product

Great product. Easy to install and run flawlessly. It works exactly as advertised and I haven't had any problems so far. I love that this unit is thicker and sturdier than other similar units I've owned, which makes the product feel sturdier and well-made.

Works for both Cd and DVDs. Cable stows nicely in the bottom of the unit. I've used it at least a dozen times, read times are comparable to other drives I've used.

I have an old usb 2.0 port reader/writer, but that won’t read blue ray. This one has type-c and read blue ray, and can write DVD for kids to watch in the car. Ticks all my requirements.

The Alphami External 3D Blu Ray DVD Drive, USB 3.0, and Type-C Bluray CD DVD Reader Bluray CD DVD Reader Bluray Slim Optical CD DVD Drive for MacBook OS Windows xp/7/8/10 Laptop Desktop PC Laptop works with a MacBook Pro 16" M1 Pro running Ventura version 13.4.1 runs on the native DVD player. According to the website, you need software to watch Bluray movies, which isn't provided. This drive supports the burning of standard CDs and DVDs in sizes of 8.5GB, 4.7GB, and 700MB, as well as 3D discs. This also comes with a cable for power if your USB port does not apply enough power to play DVDs. My MacBook USB port has enough power this cable is not needed. I dropped 1 star due to the noise/vibrations when it is running, and there is no place to store the USB-C adapter. I recommend this as long as you have the software to watch Bluray movies.
