This is an extremely sturdy splatter cover. It’s quite heavy because it’s so sturdy. Most types of these are rather flimsy. Not this one! It’s built to last. I also believe it’s dishwasher safe, but haven’t tried that yet. Another feature are the legs that are attached in a unique way. See the picture on the site. The curved wire attached to the screen are an actual way to rest it in the counter so you don’t get sauce or grease on your counter. The splatter guard rests on the wires mounted to the guard! We use this primarily when cooking meat on the stovetop, mostly burgers/ground beef and some bacon. I also use it to cover the top of my lidless saucepan when I make pasta sauce or any other sauce/soup/thing that when bubbling will splatter all over the stove. It does a good job with reducing splatter. Definitely happy with the purchase! I put it in the dishwasher and it’s easily cleaned by that, but it was immediately stained after one use, I guess from burnt on oil. Does a GREAT job on stopping oil splash, super helpful and very large so it covers all sizes of frying pans. I have a square-shaped 12in grill pan and this covers it nicely even though it a different shape. Yes it stains a bit after use but it is still very functional so I'm satisfied.

I actually use this as a strainer. I use a lot of oil when making stir fry, and I use this to drain the oil out of the wok before I add the sauce. I previously used a flimsy spatter guard. Eventually it got too bent out of shape, so I had to buy a new one. This guard is much more sturdy, allowing me to keep a good seal when covering the wok so I can more easily drain out the oil. I’m impressed with the weight and stability of this product. I have had splatter screens in the past but this one far surpasses them all. It doesn’t get hot on the handle and it cleans up easily. The red handle looks great because it doesn’t blend in. It is easy to use.
