I fixed a crack in a plastic body panel on a motorcycle. The tool came with four varieties of bracket, and I used three of the them. There’s a set of pliers included to trim off the tails of the brackets. The repair is solid. One thing to keep in mind is that it’s best to put in the brackets from the inside so their tails are not exposed/visible. I didn’t have that option this time due to previous repair attempts. They can still be faired away but it’s a lot of work to make a cosmetically perfect repair that way. If you’re a DIY type, the cost of this tool is low enough to get it for even one job vs taking it to a pro or replacing the part ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This kit works! It works well, but it is a plastic hot stapler, not really a welder. If you need to repair plastic, don't worry that it is not actually a welder. Everything a fixed thus far seems solid, and the staple wire seems strong. For some project you might want to sand down the bur created when the staple is inserted. This is easy work for any Dremel tool. I took off 1 star because the included plyers are the wrong type. We get a decent pair of diagonal plyers when we should have been given precision flush plyers. I show this in my video review. The vendors on Amazon seem to watch the feedback so I bet this will get corrected soon. Flush cut plyers can be purchased on Amazon, or any local hardware store will stock them. Great product, easy to use, even on your first try. Sadly, wrong plyers included. A- grade from me. Update: still great, A+ item, I used a recycle crate to practice on and I got really good at using the tool. I can say it takes about 50 staples to get great at it, so practice before you work on something important. CAUTION: I did have a minor injury when cutting off the leftover pins. I used to better flush cut snips, and the pin shot off and went through my pants and into my leg. It was like getting hit with a BB gun, so be careful where you cut them off, because they can come off with more than expected force, look at my pic. ... show more

This has been sitting on my list of tools to buy for years. I was just installing a new gps radio into my daughters new car and the trim on the sides of the radio (2012 Rav4) broke when removing them. I could have bought new trim pieces but for the same money, I got this tool to repair it. It worked perfect, can't tell it was in two pieces. Tool paid for itself with one project. The product is great, I fixed my 250 gallons water tank and it's holding up so far. You get everething you need with this gun, all you need to do is watch some videos about using a gun like this, it's easy but it takes sometime to get a good welding job, at one point I had to let the gun sit unplugged for a couple of hours so it could cooll off and came back and kept working fine, my tank had a big breach at the bottom so I did not mind taking the time was needed to get the job done right. ... show more

After 'discovering' this on AliExpress and finding it interesting, I slept on it a bit. More recently, our refuse container developed a split in the side - one of the big trash containers that are robotically picked up and dumped by hydraulic arm. While considering methods of patching or repairing the crack, I remembered this tool. Thankfully, it was available on Amazon (AliExpress can take weeks or months to arrive) and priced fairly. I ordered this one as it would arrive the soonest. Zero regrets! This thing was a breeze to figure out and use. Within minutes of opening the box, I had the first few wires embedded in the plastic can, and was well on the way to securing the split. I can't stress how simple this tool is to use. You simply insert the chosen wire into the tool, press the trigger and gently press the wire into the plastic where you need it. The wire heats up very quickly (like within a second or so) and I had no difficulty controlling the placement, etc. Once the wire is in place, you release the trigger and allow just a moment (>1 second) for the plastic to cool enough to reharden, then pull away the tool. I placed about 40 wires into the rather long crack, and it held firm. After that step, I used a pair of wire cutters to snip off the leads for each wire. I will say this one my only gripe about the tools included in this set. The wire cutters included are not 'flush cut' style cutters, so you are left with 1mm of wire sticking out of the repaired surface. I have an array of such tools, so I had a flush-cut set of clippers which made quick work of the excess. Due to the need for a really smooth surface inside the refuse container (to prevent ripped trash bags), I opted to use a rotary tool with a grinder bit and file down the sharp edges of wire. As a final step, I attached the smoothing tip, included in the set, to the tool and used it to gently massage the plastic around the crack and smooth it into place to 'seal' the seam. While mostly cosmetic, it should also help prevent moisture and odor from escaping the container. In other applications, like repairing something you intend to 'finish' with paint or other treatment, this step is probably a necessity. Again, it was surprisingly intuitive and easy, with a shallow learning curve. I am frequently impressed when I discover a new tool which makes a task exceptionally easier than without that tool, and this is definitely one of those tools. Without it, my options were limited to some type of adhesive to attempt to close the crack, or trying to fit a sheet of thin metal to the outside and secure it in place with fasteners like screws or rivets. While it would work, the damage would be very visible and present further potential for problems. I’ve used this for few different, and successful, plastic fixes. It works really well and comes with ample consumables. The only flaw I’ve I’m found, and it’s more of a minor inconvenience, is that it is really difficult to fit it all back in the case. There’s just too much to stuff in there, but especially the power cord. It’s a nice case with good buckles just needs to be a bit bigger. ... show more
