  • Starts on first pull!
Not sure if it was designed that way, but it’s a soft start. I only use E6010 which historically has a violent arc. Not with this unit. Amperage adjustments are incredibly precise.

  • Solid value, great performance.
This machine impressed me for what it cost. I’ve found it to be very versatile, welds great, ample generator power. My only negative issues are flimsy handles feel like they won’t last long and muffler is a little loud. I felt it was the best value and quality features between Hobart, Miller, and Lincoln. ... show more

Unfortunately not impressed item was late then upon opening found it was shipped with oil and it was everywhere so much so it wouldn't start because the air filter was so clogged with the oil then the carburetor leaked gas when we call Hobart they were totally unhelpful told us it was a Briggs and Stratton problem not theirs since its their engine no number to call nothing so the repair place is 2 hours drive from me and it can't be shipped because it's had gas in it doubt it would be same day service even if I had the time to drive it there so no not happy and won't buy Hobart again since they don't stand behind what they sell ... show more

  • Good as welder.
I have used this as a welder quite extensively. It works fine although it seems like the amperage is higher than the dial indicates since I usually have to use lower than recommended amperage on both 1/8 and 2/32 rods. I have only used E6011 with this machine, and it worked well. I have also used the 120 V outlets to run a few power tools (angle grinder and drill). I would have given it five stars but there are two things I don't like: 1) There is no throttle control and the engine runs full-out from starting to turning off. 2) It would be nice if the wheels were an inch or so bigger in diameter. It's okay on pavement but moving it through a lawn is not easy. ... show more

Works well, good power only drawback handles seem a little inadequate for such a heavy machine.

  • It's working as intended so far.
I am using it for some farm chores ( fencing, gates, etc. ) and so far it it start every time and does it's job. I just wish I had bought the one with a starter.

  • "Best Welder"
I don't think there are any better welders made at any price! The mighty "L" is no longer what it used to be and the "Big Blue" also went by the wayside when they started manufacturing them in China. I've had a few of these machines now and have always been well pleased, from the smaller hand cranked units, all the way up to the pipeline sized rigs... I've never been disappointed in a Hobart! ... show more
