First let me say, if you are on the fence about buying this trust me just buy it!! This thing saved me over $600. So ive seen these machines being advertised in different sites and was always skeptical about how well they actually worked, and honestly i didnt really have a need for one untill recently. So about two weeks ago i ran my 2013 John Deere mower hood into an object that decided it didnt want to move instead it shattered the hood of my tractor go figure. So i decided to give this product ago since it seemed like it would come with everything i need, and the price point was definitely fair for all you would get in the kit. Product arrived on time and everything was included that was advertised so i set to work. I was worried there would be a steep learning curve and there wasnt this thing is so simple to use and the hot staples actually are pretty structual the repaired cracks were very strong and i was able to repair my hood in no time and its way stronger than it ever was absolutley impressed with this machine i placed prolly a 100 plus staples and this thing kept chugging along unphased even the spoons used for smoothing worked great! However there was one major con. The flush cut cutter they provide in the kit is simply a set of cheaper diaganol cutters and do not flush cut but honestly thats the only major flaw i have found so far with the kit. Absolutely would buy this again if or when it ever fails a def must have for anyone who owns do it yourselfers.

Now that I have this, all I want to do is repair plastic. The kit includes everything you may need to repair broken plastic parts. I was amazed at the quality of the item and all the components. I primarily purchased this to repair a broken John Deere tractor hood and it worked amazing. I did reinforce the crack with fiberglass, but that may have been unnecessary.

Bought this to reattach the pieces of the hood on a John Deere riding mower. Worked great. Used various staples from the kit. Heats up fast. I have used smaller, soldering iron style welders that do not put out enough heat. This one put out plenty of heat. Was unable to use other items in the kit including the filler/welding rods since JD uses a propietary mixture of green egg shell and potatoes chip to make their hoods. Sorry, back on topic, there are a lot of items in the kit for fixing various types of plastic. Good welder, good kit.

Seems to be of good quality. Heats the staple up in about 5 seconds making the job quick. Has a good assortment of staples and color filler rods. I used this to weld a crack in a poly wheelbarrow tub (Never poly again). Supported the bottom of the tub with 3/4” plywood to keep contents from falling through the crack. Only time will tell if the staples will keep the welded crack from separating. I think the best application here is repairing cracked plastics and bumpers and other nonload surface areas.

For the price, this is a decent kit. Make sure you're working in a well ventilated area, you'll be making quite a bit of smoke, which you won't want to breathe in. I found the supply and variety of hot staples to be generous and the included flush cut pliers to be a welcome surprise. One thing I did notice, is that the smoothing tool is very difficult to use and has very little workability, in that the plastic rods either don't melt or turn into mush very quickly. This was my first time attempting to use this type of tool, so it may be user error. Regardless of my opinion, if you're looking for a starter kit for plastic welding, this is a decent one. You will learn as you go.

Absolutely flawless , I was skeptical ! The plastic Back fenders and covers , cup holder and control center on my zero turn mower was taped and glued, strapped and ruined ! I spent about a hour on each side and there good as new ! I used the staples inside and out snipped the ends off , sanded em down smooth and several coats of paint ! There better than new and saved me close to 300 dollars each ! It’s a no brainer ! ❤️

This is a solid plastic welder. Already used it for a few projects to fixing cracks, to fully welding back on plastic pieces. It heats up quick and you can get to work in a few minutes. Haven’t had any issues with it overheating for longer jobs. My only negatives, is that it comes with one style plastic melter and in some cases it would be nice to have different shapes to be able to do a better job. The other thing is that the back end of it does get quite hot. Also the snips and the utility knife it comes with are not great. Specially the utility knife. It pretty much doesn’t function. Also the little light on the welder is only useful for letting you know it’s on and heating. Otherwise it comes with quite of bit of accessories that should last you for some time, to do multiple jobs. Comes with a lot of black, grey, white, and clear sticks.
