  • Won't start
Won't start. Started it a couple of times when I first got it June 2024. It's a little over a year later and it won't start. I know it's a heavy pull due to the flywheel, however it still won't start. 50 pulls, it won't start. Brand new fuel, won't start. New spark plug - won't start. Starter fluid got it started enough to do part of my job, and this afternoon it won't start. Not even with starter fluid. It's a $1,000+ piece of junk. ... show more

  • Five stars… for the price.
For $1050, this wood chipper is fantastic. If you’re expecting it to mow through 4” branches, forget it: not for a product at this price. In fact, anything larger than 1.5 to 2” needs to be pushed in with some care, especially after the blade has dulled a little. Bht this chipper will get the job done… again, with a little care. I had brush from seven 80-foot oak, birch, and pine trees to cut, amounting to a good 1500-2000 branches ranging from 1/2” to 2.5” diameter, along with a few thousand more thin branches of 1/2” or less. I essentially needed a chipper to to take care of this job that was inexpensive enough to dispose of after. I was able to cut them all in about 15 hours and roughly 5 gallons of gas. Assembly is easy. The engine starts reliably. The device will self-feed branches as long as there are no impediments that would require you to push them into the blade. The blade does dull fairly quickly but I didn’t need to sharpen it to complete the job. One issue I encountered repeatedly was clogging. Push too many small branches in at once and the engine would become bogged down and stall. Small twigs would immediately fall into the rotating blade mechanism and prevent me from pull-starting the engine. In such cases, I had to open the hopper and sometimes the chute to clear the wood and allow the mechanism to move freely - a 10-minute task. After doing this easily 20+ times, I learned to feed the wood in carefully. Overall, this chipper isn’t as powerful as it claims to be, but for $1000, it’s a tremendous deal, as it’ll handle a large project. ... show more

  • Don't waste your money
I ordered two and both lasted only 10 to 20 hours of use on fresh cut under 3 " material

  • Happy with this wood chipper - but needs modification to prevent clogging
Overall, I am really happy with this wood chipper. I am using it to make a wood chip trail through a wooded area in my backyard. Pros: Easy to move around - especially like the handles on the chute, and the large wheels, that make it easy to move around. Engine seems to be good quality. Cons: I was having a major problem with clogging in the outflow chute. I found the problem for that... the wood chips were not getting thrown up all the way out of the chute (the chute had about one foot of metal on the underside). Especially wet branches. The chips were falling back down into the cutting rotor and clogging it. Once I realized this, I cut off the bottom part of the chute, as seen in the photos, using a metal cut off tool (angle grinder). So now the bottom of the chute is free to disperse the wood chips and this totally fixes it and I have not had clogs since. If anyone else buys this I highly recommend to do the same. And I would recommend the manufacturer to also modify this outflow chute to prevent this problem. One other con - The marketing says this cuts 4 inch branches - but I have not had luck with that... they do fit in the chute, but I feel the cutting rotor (whatever it is called) is not capable of chopping up that size of branch. Other than that, I am really happy with it so far. My wood chip trail is coming along nicely. ... show more

  • This machine did not start. I had to repair damage apparently incurred in shipping.
I had to have a bent bolt replaced and there was damage in shipping to the engine casing that prevented it from starting. I had it repaired locally. The company was good and reimbursed me my expenses as promised under the warranty. It now works well. Overall I am satisfied.

  • It really chips real good
It's strong enough to do do what it is supposed to do. The technology is good however, the sheet metal work needs improvement, which has no influence on the functionality of the machine. Also the placement of the emergency button has to be placed differently because it's easy to trigger it by mistake. All in all at this point, I would buy it again. ... show more
