I purchased one Aleko Awning thinking the great price might affect the quality and durability of the product. After installing the Awning, I absolutely had to order the second. These Awnings are quality, the frame work and mechanical parts are very well made. I would suggest read and understand the instructions as they can be a bit unclear. There is a serious design flaw. The bracket at the end of the extender arms is held on with a single screw on the TOP of the bar. This allows torque from the awning to pull the bracket up and it tears the metal at the end of the arm. Hoping Aleko approves a refund because this awning is USELESS. Edit: Aleko approved a refund. But only if I returned the entire awning. But I had already disposed of the packaging. So no money back for me. ... show more

Warning ⚠️ if you’re not handy, this might be very difficult to install for you. My husband is a handyman and had a difficult time installing it. It took him about 3-4 (if not maybe more) hours to do it. The instructions are not very helpful. They need a to revise their instructions and make them a bit more detailed. I installed the awning myself with no help. I installed in sections. I remove the end brackets for the awning then the support arms . I put the awning roller together installed the awning on the the roller by hanging the awning over my deck which was about 12 feet in the air and rolled it up keeping the center seam lined up while I rolled it up . Once I mounted the support brackets I attached the long square support bracket on to the supports securing the left end with bolt to hold it temporally. I rested the right support arm on my shoulder and pulling bracket out just enough to slide the support arm on .Once that was in place Installed the bolt in the support bracket to hold it in place. The left side is the same except the center piece that supports the awning goes on first and positioned half way between the middle support bracket and the support arm this will support the awning while you install the right awning bracket then lift the awning just to slide the roller support close to the middle then install the left awning support . The rest is common sense. I'm 73 years old this was a piece of cake everything fit like it should . Don't tighten anything until you have everything lined up and in place . The only part that you have to watch is at the end of the support arms where it bolts to the front brace on the awning. Great product for the money . ... show more

It was not clear if the handle could be installed on the right side. With a little tinkering the gear box can be unbolted and shifted to the right side. This thing is sturdy and impressive. This unit provides great shade! Looks great too. The installation was a little tricky and we needed 2 people to do it. Other than the install being a little tricky, we love it!
