  • I thought installation would be easy.
Size: 12 x 10 Color: Ivory
It has a great price. I thought I installed it correctly but it didn't close fully. It took it down to start over again and that is where it went down hill hard. Looking at the pictures, both sides of the front piece wasn't able to handle a power screw driver. It is a weak metal. Not sure what to do as of this point but it turned into a waste of time and money. ... show more

  • Beach House Awning YOUTUBE Instructions
Size: 10 x 8 Color: Gray/White
My husband installs elevators in skyscrapers for a living. For nearly 30 years now he's been reading blueprints in the Construction trade. He said the instructions that came with this awning were absolutely ATROCIOUS! (I'm so glad I was out shopping!) He wasted 3 hours of his life Saturday trying to figure it out. Finally googled a Youtube video and was able to complete the job. The 3 stars are because I love the look and it works great. So do yourself a favor, until this company has someone (well versed in English & some technical experience) re-write these instructions, throw them out and go straight to Youtube. ... show more

  • Absolutely a two-person job. Be sure to pick someone who already likes you a lot!
Great project to work on with a significant other. Builds communication skills, patience, team work, and tests who has higher reading comprehension. I highly recommend cocktails afterward and NOT during. The instructions were fairly easy to follow. A few steps were already accomplished by the manufacturer, some of which were indicated in the directions and others that were not indicated but ended up having to be disassembled then reassembled. Handy tip #1 so you can avoid re-doing this particularly heinous step: When inserting the "liner" (plastic piece that slips through a pocket the fabric in order to give it rigidity and hold it in the track on the roller bar and front piece), first pinch/crush the slit in the fabric the liner is going into. Work your way from one end to the other pushing the folded side into the seam line, essentially make the opening more like a hole and less like a suffocating slit that wants to keep the liner from going through to the other side. Handy tip #2: when inserting the liner, the narrow gauge one (thinner) goes into the main fabric that inserts into the roller bar. This seems counter intuitive but trust me, it's the ONLY way slipping the fabric and liner through the roller channel will actually be accomplished. The microscopic diagram was particularly unhelpful in figuring out which liner to insert so I'm here to help you. This tip doesn't matter to you right now, but trust me, it will matter when putting this dandy together! Construction, fit, and finish on the awning seem like they will hold up over time. I feel that when the awning is fully extended out (8') it's a bit flimsy so I don't recommend having it at capacity for extended periods of time. The white powder coating is clean and sharp looking and the fabric we picked is adorable. The green is a chartreuse with a few drops of kelly green mixed in. Super cute! Provides very decent shade! ... show more

  • this awning has to be assembled, in the ad it is not stated that it is not an assembled unit.
first thing, this unit is not in one piece, it has to be assembled. i had a stroke a few years ago. i was able to assemble most of the unit by myself. you will need help to mount the unit. the unit has a very long cord. 14 to 15 foot long. the motor is very quiet. if you have winds over 15 mph. you will get the fabric flopping around a lot. i suggest as i did i used tarp clips and bungy cords to keep it from flopping around. keeps the fabric taut. i used bungy cords to hold the arms from opening while i installed the trim front piece. you will need to use the green tool to adjust the in and out on the motor. it will trial and error. i mounted this awning in front of my garage to shade my new Kia sportage in the summer sun. i mounted the awning 3 feet from the stucco wall, it is a 13 foot by 10 foot. so i now get 13 feet coverage out from the stucco on the garage. my car is 14 feet long. please read the instructions, they are helpful. but you will need to read between the lines, these instructions are not printed in the U.S.. wish i could have bought an extended warranty on this awning. there was not an option for that in the purchase mode. ... show more

  • Exactly what I needed
Size: 12 x 10 Color: Gray
It really wasn’t that hard to assemble and install. The size I got 12’x10’ really didn’t even need 2 people to assemble as some people stated, maybe just rolling the fabric on. I will say the directions are just pictures so mistakes can be made which did happen in my case. But there are some videos that you can search for which made it somewhat easier. You will need 2!folks minimum to install in on the brackets, but doesn’t take long. I would recommend getting the front supports which are sold separately. Makes it really sturdy! ... show more
