Update: I have had this installed for nearly 9 months now. It was difficult to put together, but this has help up great. No rips, no tears. I put it in in the wind, but is great protection from rain and sun. I am very pleased with the purchase. As far as the negative reviews, please consider the price. This is not a 2k awning. Obviously written by someone lacking English speaking skills. Very hard to follow and understand. Pictures are horrible and they don't match the style of parts. This was the most frustrating. Once its figured out, its not bad at all to put together. Its lightweight enough for one person to handle. Make sure you have metric tools! You will need a 17 and 19 MM sockets and wrenches. You will also need Allen wrenches. One mistake I made was on the swing (spring loaded) arms. We put them on upside down somehow. (Had 3 geniuses working on it ). Instructions really did not indicate how they went and pictures did not help. Its pretty much common sense, but easily missed. Also, the menu for parts in the front of the manual are inaccurate..all parts were there needed to install, just not the ones listed. ... show more

I was expecting a somewhat low quality product, and crappy instructions but it was packed very well had good instructions and was a pretty good build quality. I don't know how it compares to the more expensive units out there, but I expect this to last a few years, maybe more. It comes with concrete anchors, but I used deck lags to studs in the wall. You can extend it out to whatever length you want to use it at, and it has holes to adjust the tilt of the awning. I would recommend this product, and buy another if I have the need. ... show more

Three stars only for the TERRIBLE "INSTRUCTIONS" we are given and are forced to guess at how this or that goes, and everything's backwards!! I love the awning and how cute it looks on our back deck! But something is wrong, I've added a pic in hopes that someone can tell me what they think. It rolls out fine, but when you roll it in, the arms stick out as shown and won't go in! ... show more

I am extremely satisfied with this product. A lot of reviews commented about the instructions being hard to understand and difficulty assembling the awning. I don't know. Maybe they put better instructions in my box but if you take your time and read the instructions thoroughly a couple times you will find it's not nearly as difficult. I was able to put it together alone but there is no way you can mount it on the wall alone. Also read the other reviewers. They give very helpful advice on using lag bolts for instance instead of the bolts that come with the awning that are for masonry walls. I was very prepared when I finally got time to assemble and install it. I like the awning very much. ... show more

    • After two days of trying to get this up my husband has threaten to divorce me!
Extremely disappointed in this product. I read some of the reviews but should have paid closer attention to them. The instructions are terrible and not worth the paper they are written on. We've taken it apart and re-built it so many times and it still doesn't work or look as it should. The front part hangs so low that I can't even walk under it without bending over and I'm only 5'3" and now I have holes in my house from where the bolts were. I would ship it back but apparently the shipping cost more than what I pay for the damn thing. ... show more

A solid piece of hardware. I'll probably buy another one for another door. The installation instructions are dissed by everybody, but they can be followed with effort. Like everybody else has said who has reviewed it, it It comes with lag bolts for a masonry installation. I have wood siding, so I had to buy some screws to replace the masonry hardware. But it is an easy swap. If you have any DIY skills at all, this will be a pretty easy install. ... show more

Installation is a b****! Instructions are inaccurate, confusing and miss leading. I wouldn’t advise getting this if you don’t have major experience. Awing seems solid.
