Blocks out the shade. Pain in the butt to put up because it requires a 10mm masonry bit... that doesn't exist. We had to improvise and be extremely careful doing so, that way you don't put too big of holes in your house and ruin your chance to even put it up... But it's up, we like it. Wind gets it moving a bit but sturdy enough not to come down or cause any damage. Can reel it in or out, up or down. So make sure you know what you are doing or find someone who does to put it up for you. ... show more

Really easy to install, definitely need two people to put up, directions were very easy to follow and I love the color, it's definitely worth the money. I looked at another more famous brand and it would have cost $1700 and this one was a little over $200. It came and shipped on time.

This awning was delivered a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't put it up because there was either excessively hot days or torrential rain. I didn't open it until a few days ago. After making sure the brackets were level, with the help of my father, we put the awning into the brackets and noticed that the bar across and the cylinder holding the awning looked banged up. This had to have happened at the factory because the box was not crushed upon delivery. The directions on it are horrible. When we tried to install the bolts into the brackets, they wouldn't go in properly, probably because the bar across was bowed where the dents are. We went and got a little bit more narrow bolts. With the both of us using all of our strength to lift the entire awning just right, we managed to get the bolts in. Then I realize I can't adjust the angle of the awning because the side bolts on the brackets are not able to move (see photo). Sigh. It's up. It works, gives good shade, but not being able to change the angle is a bummer. Again, if the instructions were better, the bracket placement was a little better, If it wasn't banged up, was a bit easier to install with better directions, I would have given it give stars. The box turned to mush in the torrential rain so I couldn't send it back. I guess overall, it's okay for the money. ... show more

    • Needed some shade on my patio door
Two days it’s been up, seems to take care of my need which was shade on the patio door that faces west, I’ve felt it’s cooler in the family room because of it. Wish it came with lag bolts as an option to anchors for mounting. If you’re not mounting this to concrete you’ll need to run to the hardware store for lag bolts. It says two person job to put it up, was able to do it alone. I did buy the protection plan and hope I never have to use it, purchased it based solely on the reviews. I’ll update this review if anything changes but so far, so good, it’s everything they described it to be. ... show more

No wood hardware included so get some lag bolts. They lied and there goes two stars. If you specifically claim to work with vinyl then how about including vinyl hardware. The product itself works fine when installed. If you are securing to wood best of luck. 95 inches is the mounting width. With a a stud finder I was able to make out a position that worked but it's off center to my double doors. I've only had this up a day but after having it fully extended and out in rain and mild wind I would get it again it does seem to work well and provide a water barrier. ... show more
