Description

Not a typical trundle bed! Starts as a Twin Daybed and saves space, but extends to a King-Size bed quickly and easily for guests! When in twin position two twin mattresses stack on top of each other, mattresses are not included. Two twin mattresses that are 4-6”H will be perfect for the Melody day bed! To extend the bed you will pull out the additional platform and then move one of the twin mattresses over to the pulled-out side. The drawers can still be accessed when you extend the bed. Weight capacity is 220 pounds for each side of bed. Not for use with a Twin XL mattress or a king-size mattress. Bed ships in 2-boxes; please note that the boxes may not arrive on the same day. I love my new bed. As long as you know how to follow the given directions, it can be put together by two people (without experience) in about 2-3 hours. My only complaint is that the drawers underneath it aren’t very sturdy, but the rest of the bed is.

The bed frame is as described. The assembly process for this bed is not great. While the manual and directions are clear, the amount of time required to assemble this bed is significant. I assembled this mostly unassisted, but had to ask my SO for an assist in a few spots to hold the frame. From start to finish this took 3-4 hrs to assemble. For the price point it functions as intended, I would just recommend purchasing some extra wood glue. They give technically enough, but by the end I was really stretching a dwindling supply. I've put together a good deal of furniture and this was one of the hardest pieces and instructions to follow, including the quality of the material. The idea is super, but the function is not. Several predrilled holes were off, hardware screws subpar, instructions vague, and drawers/pull out parts fell apart after first use. I tightened the screws correctly and they came loose and don't grab the screw and fit the spot for the drawer front. The pictures are what's happened when u used the drawer for the first time. A twin mattress doesn't fit comfortably and there is a big gap so that will be an issue with use and things falling down the side. I wanted to love this product, but I would not recommend this bed. I would have returned it if I hadn't been so exasperated putting it together. The thought of packing it all back up and taking it apart made me want to cry. I didn't want to look at it and the cost was far too high for the quality. ... show more

Bought this bed for my 3YO and to use as a guest bed occasionally, and we love it. Super sturdy and stylish, and the storage drawers are roomy. Assembly was pretty easy but took about 2 hours - Some of the wooden pieces were not labeled so we had to play the process of elimination game with pictures from the manual. I should have read the reviews first on what mattresses I should get to have them stacked on each other because we’re not sure where to store a second mattress for the king conversion; we went with a very thick pillow top mattress and there’s no way we can stack another on it. 1. The instructions were hard to understand. 2. It appears someone let a router get out of alignment which caused one of the slots in one of the boards that guides a drawer frame to not be straight. In the photo you can see the slot that should have been centered in the dowel pin holes but got too close to one hole causing the slot to be out of alignment & split the wood as seen in the 3 attached photos. 3. I did not make photos but there were 2 places where the lamination was pulled off. This bed was a gift and the person receiving it decided to keep it rather than having to wait on a replacement. Building the bed: this was a bit more challenging and took more time than advertised, but instructions were clear and the result was great! The under-bed storage is a fantastic feature. We have laughed often since using this guest bed: the smiling woman in the "demo video" single-handedly (literally) pulls out the drawers and flips the mattresses to set up the bed. Easy-breezy. Not the strongest and pieces aren’t all labeled but with common sense it comes together fairly easy. Took me about 2 1/2 ours just because there’s so many screws and I laid all the pieces out organized 1st. It does what it is supposed to do, and if you do the 6 inch memory foam mattresses it works perfect to stack them on top of each other when it is a daybed and very comfortable when it is a king bed. The base that the drawers are in pull straight out and they even thought of stoppers so that you can’t over pull it to create the king bed. It is low to the ground but super cute and great storage! It is junk. The slats are cheap soft wood and the screws pull eaaily. It is difficult to pull the trundle without pieces pulling out of the wood. It looks nice after assembly until it's time to pull the bed into the double twin position.
