These are tension rods. I am of the belief that they either work or they don't and these happen to work pretty well. They lock in place, aren't easily (or accidentally) dislodged, and do their job. They are on the skinny side, so if you are handing really heavy or ornate drapes, I'd look elsewhere. But really, how many people are hanging some nice embroidered drapes with these?
