  • Great starter coop
I needed a coop to use for our ducklings before they transition to our large coop. I came across this one and thought it would be perfect as there is no ramp to get into it. It was extremely easy to put together (2 people, but think 1 could manage). For further predator proofing, I took another reviewers advice and put different locks on the outside and added additional locks to the top openings. I also added chicken wire to block one of the doorways and made a small door with a latch to shut the other doorway at night. It's been through a few storms and 100 degree Texas weather and is holding up great so far. For the price, as most coops are double/triple this, I'd say it's a great buy and we've even considered buying another to attach them together and make a larger run area. ... show more

  • Instructions weren’t super clear but got it built and it’s cute
The sturdiness of this hutch is pretty good. I cannot attest to how it is in the weather as I just put it together yesterday, but it felt very sturdy when I was done putting it together. As well, my two children were playing in it (not the hutch itself) and it didn’t break or move. I can’t fully give it a 5 star review because in a few spots where the wire is attached to the wood frame, it was broken and detached. I bent the wires back as best I could, it wasn’t big spots. My plan is to use it for my quail when they’re a bit more ready to be outside and out of the brooder; so as a good comparison for those broken spots, the holes aren’t big enough for them to get through. Another reason for the 4 stars is because the instructions weren’t super clear for me. I like detailed instructions that make something kind of idiot proof, these were not like that at all. It took me a little while to figure out how it wanted the hinges to be attached for the roof. It wasn’t clear which side goes down for each piece so I had to figure that out on my own. Overall it took less than an hour to put together, difficulty was not that bad just wish the instructions were more clear, and the hutch and run itself are absolutely adorable. My quail are going to love it, I can’t wait to use it. ... show more

  • Buy it!!!
This is really worth the money! It took about 30 minutes to put together and looks exactly like the pictures. We have two ducks and it’s plenty of indoor and outdoor space. You could probably fit up to 4 chickens in this. It’s perfect for ducks since ours couldn’t climb ramps too well. All in all really worth the money and I think this will last us for years. ... show more

  • Nice Design but needs a little work!!!
This is a nice coop, would fit about 3 full size chickens maybe 4 at most. I’m using it for 3 ducks. First of all cons: it’s painted but if you want it to last I would seal it or paint it using exterior paint. When the roof is down there is a large gap in the front. If you plan to use the run attached I believe that gap is covered. But my coop will be in a bigger run so I had to fill that gap. Ihave not used it yet because I’ve been painting and sealing it better, and as you can see from the pictures the vinyl is lifting up. It is removable so you may want to buy something a little thicker that sits better. There are two openings with no doors to close if you wanted to secure the coop. The outer run has lockable doors though. I added a small strip of wood to secure the gap by the roof. I added a door to one of the openings using an old coop door I had. I repainted the whole thing using exterior paint. And sealed the floors and a couple panels that had minor gaps. Overall I like the coop but it needs a little work. I will keep it under a covered run, which should help the longevity of its life. I had extra corrugated roofing from another project so I reinforced the flimsy roof that it comes with. The wood is thin but so are the majority of coops you buy. So take it for what it’s worth. Once I start using it, I’ll update. ... show more

  • Not the best
It came with a broken wall piece. First messaging contact was very quick. Never got a response to my reply with picture included. Didn't even have it a week & the screws popped out of the top portion that covers the closed in area. I knew they weren't going to last because of how short the screws were for such a hefty piece. There's nothing for the screws to actually grab onto. I'll be bracing it myself to ensure both sides of the hinges have something to grab on to. Yes, I read the reviews before buying but went through with it any how. Kicking myself now. It's a good, basic design for those looking for a simple coop. The design flaws could & should be addressed. We'll use it as long as we can. I'm sure the frame won't hold up indefinitely due to the thin, somewhat ports wood that's used. Many of the screws keep spinning once they reach their final point. It'll do okay for our purpose at the moment but it's not a keeper. Save your money & skip this one. Pay a bit extra to get a good one. Not even sure I'd buy another one sight unseen. ... show more

  • Poorly made, fell apart quickly
We bought it for our ducks. It was easy to construct, but fell apart quickly when we moved it. Might be okay if you built it where you were going to use it and left it there, but for us it was a total waste of money.

  • Just as described and easy to assemble!
I put this together as a party of one and it was easy. 45 minutes at most, and the end product is fantastic. My baby chicks love it!

  • Duck coop
The ducks do great in this! Easy to put together! I did have a lil help from my 3 year old but one person can do it.
