This is a nice starter coop for somebody just beginning. The wood is lightweight so I recommend not using a drill screwdriver to put it together. Some of the pieces are not marked with the letter corresponding to the directions but it was easy to figure out and we had it assembled with a few breaks in about an hour.     • Not durable and not right size
Do not purchase. Not sturdy and size was smaller than description. Had a hard time with seller as far as return so I am stuck with it and unable to use it.

    • Good for what it is
Good things: Coop was exactly as described, easy to put together, all the hardware was there and all the holes were in the right place. You do really need two people for assembly in the first step. After that, one person is fine. I'll echo the sentiments of others in that I don't think it's suitable for long term use outdoors just because the wood is soft (which makes it easy to put together) and the wire is a bit flimsy - it looks like hardware cloth in the picture, but it's actually a much thinner gauge wire. A determined predator could manage it. I bought it for a short term dwelling until my chicks are old enough to go out with the hens and I think it will be great for that purpose as it will be kept inside until we rear another batch sometime. It had a pretty strong odor out of the box, so I would also recommend letting it air out for few days before putting any chickens in there. So first off- it says it takes about an hour to build with 2 people- i built mine alone and spent about 5 hours- instructions were definitely not clear. My wood did not have numerical markings to help me figure anything out. Once i tore it apart 5 times and rebuilt it, i finally got it together correctly. Only to find it was TOO SMALL! (Insert crying emoji here). My hens are big girls and this just will not do! I sized up on the house, it said 4-6 hens, nope… My 3 are anxiously awaiting their door opening every morning because it is crowded af! The run… well honestly its a ramp, no run. And the area underneath the house is short so the girls have a hard time standing up straight. So i just put their food and snacks down there since they will be pecking away. Kinda mad since now i have to buy something else from TSC that will cost me even more money to ensure the ladies comfort. But it is what it is. This would be better described for chicks or young hens. Mine are about 2 yo. So keep that in mind. A few pieces came off within days (screws for the hatch to retrieve eggs), since they are very short. So buy longer ones beforehand. The quality is great it held up in a severe storm here (we also covered it with a tarp to ensure the ladies stayed dry), and it did fine. But yeah. 3 stars for the reasons mentioned above. Price is very good, but need quality and durable coop. Encountered some problems after just a couple weeks with young hens. Manufacturer needs to put out better quality and durability.

This coop is made of thin wood and doesn't feel very sturdy, but more importantly it arrived with most pieces either cracked, split, or chipped heavily. With the condition it is in, I expect a predator will be able to break in easily. I do not recommend.

Decent coop definitely not enough room for 4 to 6 full grown chickens comfortably so they lied about that…. 3 max to be honest! Disappointing

It says that it can hold 4 to 6 chickens. But I want you to know there's absolutely NO WAY that many can be in there. I have 6 hens and only 2 fit in there. Not much room to move around for just them. Its super cute. May fit more if you have a small breed of chickens. Maybe great for raising baby chickens in. ... show more
