  • Survived a hurricane
Color: Grey
The coop is well constructed and easy to put together. It survived 75+MPH winds during Hurricane Milton 2024. It Will fit a small flock of chickens. My only recommendation would be to make the roosting bars more wider and close off the nesting boxes until they are ready to lay eggs. Other than that it’s a great coop for the price. ... show more

  • Inexpensive materials but it works
Color: Grey
The Coop looks cute. It does fit 3 to 4 hens. I purchased two coops and put them end to end, and they were easy to construct and the instructions were good. It is suitable for now, however, I have had to add additional pieces to the coop to make it more secure. The roosting bars are slightly above the nest box, but not enough to discouraged the hens from camping out in the nesting box. Which is undesirable, but there is a small slot or space where you can slide in some kind of divider to block the nesting boxes during the night. The roost themselves are NOT satisfactory for chickens. They are rounded perches similar to a parrot perch and sit way too close to the poop shelf. The perches themselves sit in a small slot and are easily tipped over by the chickens which leaves them lying on top of the poop shelf. I ended up screwing scrap 2x4s to the little perches to give them higher and wider roosting bars, then had to secure the roosting bars with another small scrap of wood to keep them stable. There was enough space under the coop roof to do that. I can still remove the roosting bars when needed for cleaning. One of the top windows lifts up on the run so you can close and open the coop door but I turned those pieces around so that the windows both open from the center as I needed the space to easily access the feed and water dispensers. There is not really enough room to put them anywhere else that I could figure out. It’s a little awkward to close the coop door as there’s nothing to grip on the inside of the sliding coop door even if you go in through the roosting area, but at this point I’m leaving the sliding coop door open in the evenings we’ve had no problems with predators so far. When it comes winter, I’ll probably have to a fix some sort of little handle to the inside of the sliding coop door to be able to reach it from inside the coop to close it off easily for warmth. I do not see that there is enough room in the coop to install an automatic door, but maybe someone else can figure that out. I also created a floor for the coop by stapling hardware cloth over the entire base of the coop to stop predators being able to dig under and go inside as there is no floor to the coop. The hardware cloth also makes the whole structure more secure, and more stable as I have two of them end to end. I placed sand for litter on the bottom of the run so the chickens are not standing on the wire flooring. The latches on the nesting boxes that you open and close to access the egg boxes are very cheaply made, and broke almost immediately away from the roof where they’re attached so I had to come up with another solution to keep the egg boxes secure. I am new to chickens and only have six laying hens but I needed to construct a daytime outdoor area for a bigger more comfortable run as there is not much room for them to move around. All in all, this item will do for now however, it doesn’t compare to a specially constructed walk in chicken run. It’s a work in progress and for a non-walk in first time coop, it’s decent. I am also constructing a roof panel to protect them from rain and hot sun and keep the floor of the coop dry. One day I’ll have a walk in coop and a few more chickens, but for starters this works and was worth the money for someone without woodworking skills or a handyman. ... show more

  • It was easy to put together and looks great! Great size!!
Color: Grey
I got this for my Autistic son who helps at a chicken rescue. He was giving he’s own chickens and we put this together for him. He loves it and had good time putting it together!! Such a great project and it’s sturdy for its size. I feel it’s safe for both him and pets. It’s very functional for his purposes. ... show more

  • Chicken Coop
Color: Grey
I will tell you all about this coop since we just finished building it. There were three of us putting it together. However, you can do this with two people. Someone posted that the wood is soft; semi-soft but manageable. The pros and cons are the following: Pros: The chicken coop looks nice in your yard whether in the city or a country setting. It is easy to assemble because all pieces are labeled with an alphabet. The roof is sturdy. Not easily movable Made with hardware cloth Cons: Raccoons and other animals can dig under it if you do not secure it. My mom gave me the suggestion to put pink bricks around it. They will not be able to lift them or dig under them. There is one lock on there that a predator could easily open. I will change that lock for sure. Overall, I am happy with this product and would recommend it. ... show more

  • Tough Assembly
Color: Grey
Assembling the coop was definitely a task. The instructions are horrible, lacks lots of important details that will cause you to disassemble and then reassemble parts several times. Because of this, my coop was built backwards. It still works but one of the latches is on the wrong side. In a lot of spots you have to completely create your own holes. Once assembled, it gets the job done and I love that it has wheels. ... show more

  • Good not Great
Color: Grey
I am using this as a second stage brooder. My baby hens are too young for the main coop but too big for the brooder. This is perfect for stepping up to a bigger space but still keeping them safe. I only wish the locks were a little more secure. There are a total of five locks or latches, in three different styles. You may want to just invest in a few higher quality locking mechanisms. Other than that, this is perfect for what I’m needing. I wouldn’t try to use this for fully grown hens. There just wouldn’t be enough space for more than two to three at most. More than that and it will be too little space and they will not be happy girls. If you have bantams, then this might be a good coop for a small flock. I like that it has multiple gates and doors. This makes it easy to clean and feed them. It is somewhat sturdy but it isn’t going to compare at all to actual lumber. The materials used in construction are average at best. But, again, for what I needed it is perfect. Temper your expectations and you won’t be disappointed. ... show more
