Compatible but not comparable. They do not work the same. We live part time in Malawi Africa and rely on good filtration. This was not adequate and the water tasted like fish. Our main water supply is from a lake reserve there. The authentic filters remove all the taste and bacteria. These do not. They did fit the system but didn’t work the same. Also it didn’t come with the priming part needed to prime your filter. Would Not recommend. ... show more

For sometime, I wanted to buy replacement filters for the old Berkey water filters. When I searched for the replacements on Amazon, I hesitated. As I did not know if the water filer replacements will work or will fit in the Berkey steel jar. So glad I ordered them! After getting them, I followed the instructions as to how to prepare the water filters on the Berkey water steel jar. It did not take long for the water to go through the charcoal filers. First package I received had a broken filter which immediately replaced, no problem. Sent back broken filter and new one was sent at the same time. I do not believe these are the same quality of filters as the Berkey filters were because the water runs through too quickly, but the water is clear and tastes fine. ... show more
