After years of manual cleaning, I decided to invest in a robot. I spent a few hours doing my own researches and Aiper was the brand I decided to give it a try. I first bought the "Seagull Pro" and I loved it right away. Very easy to use and clean, sturdy, great selector and easy to get out from the water with the provided hook. The ONLY thing I hated was that it got stuck on the pool drains, running around the drains forever, till I push it with the pole, only to see it coming back again on the drains... The good thing was the drains were very clean... but not the rest of the pool. When I saw an ad on the new "Scuba S1", it caught my attention for only one feature: the "Caterpillar treads"!!! I had no doubt about the quality of the robot as I already had the Seagull for a while, so I had no choice but getting the Scuba and test it :) And I can say I love it even better than the Seagull. It does the job on the drains, on the bottom of the pool, the walls and even on the bench and the long stairs along the pool (the Seagull didn't do that). The battery lasts long enough (and more) to let the robot doing a great job. The suction is great, even getting sand and hairs. And the most important: it cleans the drains without being stuck... I haven't tried the "Eco Mode" yet but I love the concept and will try it for sure during next time i go on vacation. One thing Aiper could improve on the next generation is the "handle" we use to get it out of the pool: the hook is well designed but the "handle" is not easy to reach when it is in the bottom of the pool (5 feet or more). But it is not a big deal at all, we just need to practice a bit... In Summary, I would say that the Seagull pro is great if your pool's drains are flat. If not, get the Scuba S1, it will fulfill your expectations. ... show more

    • Too heavy, hard to move after operation, low battery

When I received this thing, I was so surprised. The packaging and feel were very good, but when I moved it to my pool and used it, I left it there for an afternoon. When I came back, I was looking for something that had changed. I couldn't believe that a $600 pool vacuum cleaner couldn't work properly. I thought I'd give this $600 vacuum cleaner another chance. I thought it didn't have enough power. After waiting, I chose to fully charge it and tried to work again. The unexpected problem appeared again. It stopped working in less than 20 minutes. I don't know if it was a battery problem or the heat that caused it to stop working. When I chose to charge it again, it stopped working in less than 5 minutes when it was fully charged. I was really angry because when it was working, it was very physically demanding to move this vacuum cleaner. It even wet my clothes and pants every time. I spent $600 on something that wasted my time and energy. I had to return it. I don't even recommend buying it again ... show more

This unit does a great job at being a pool cleaner. Why 4 stars, well it claims to do steps but is pretty hit and miss there. And when done it rarely returns to the same spot, you have to go find it and move it back to an area where you can remove it. Would be nice if there were a charging pad you could use instead of plugging it in, suspect that will be a failure point in the future. And on charging, they say solar panels but they are not selling them. Lastly, was a rough leaf month, would be nice to have a larger bin. Once the panels are ready that would be a great pairing. ... show more
