So this summer I must have reviewed 20 different hoses - metal, expandable and all the others. I have to say, as much as I liked some of the ones I tried, nothing beats the durability and capacity of the regular rubber garden hoses. The gimmicks are great, but once you go back to a regular garden hose you can tell why all the other styles come and go!

No leaks, no kinkage! Easy to install, good threads. I’ve been using it this summer mainly to water plants. So far, so good! I like the way it coils onto my hose reel, maybe cause it’s new, either way I like it! Seems pretty durable.

I needed to replace a shorter hose that while nice, just did not have the reach I needed. This hose is soft and supple, so the inevitable kinks are easy to smooth out. The length and suppleness do create a condition for easy tangles though. I managed this by stretching the hose out while brand new and left sitting in the hot South Florida sun for a few hours. Then I coiled the hose properly and let it cool that way. This built some "memory" into the hose, and it is now easier to manage. The brass connectors are nice and provide good grip for tightening or loosening the hose from the spigot or whatever is connected to the other end, I use it for a pressure washer. Water flow is perfect, but there was some leakage around the spigot. Likely due to damaged threads on the spigot itself.

After years of using expandable hoses and putting 2 of them (minimum) in the trash per year. I quit. That's a lot of money going to a landfill. This hose is heavier and less convenient to lug around but I know that the 90 degree temperatures are not going to cause it to explode after a few months of use. I don't leave the water on, I make sure to empty hoses after use but the expandables inner tubing is not made for storing outside and I don't have the time, storage space or stamina to be bringing 100 foot hoses inside every day twice a day. This is heavy duty, it's heavier than I might like, it does occasionally kink while watering but it's nothing unexpected and I have confidence that I will not be throwing it in the garbage in 5 months (which is about the lifetime of 99% of expandable hoses).

The media could not be loaded. Just picking this box up, you know you’ve got a good hose because of the weight of it. Opening it up, I was immediately struck by the machined brass fixtures. Even seeing brass as a plating is getting rare, so to see the machined brass parts, done right, was a very pleasant surprise. The nozzle is one of the twist spray types that I personally like. It too is machined brass. It also has a nice soft rubber protective covering making its use a bit more pleasant and it does guard the brass well. The 100 foot length should be more than enough for all but the most monumental lawns. The hose definitely has some heft which, when full of water lets you know here it is, but on the plus side it stays put. It also isn’t too heavy to be manipulated easily. The flow from the nozzle, while slightly angled, was excellent. I could reach the roof and the side walk from the garage (as shown in the video). If the wind is kicking up, or you just want to be a little more gentle with he watering 100’ is more than long enough to reach the corners of the yard from the hose bib. I should also say that while it isn’t just pleasant to see brass, they have good washers and rubber overlays on all the fittings so you can turn the hose on and leave it on because it actually seals properly. My only beef is that they call it anti-kink, and as rubber hoses go, it isn’t bad, but it does kink, even after releasing all the tension on it. They have a rotating joint at the hose bib which really helps, but if they really wanted it to fight kinking, they needed another one at the nozzle end. That said, for the size of this hose, and the easy of the installation as I didn’t have to make up for poor quality materials with plumbers tape, etc. I think it is a pretty good deal for the dollar.
