Do not buy if you need dependability. Love being able to see at night when it is working. Seems after multiple times having been locked out via white screen and then searching on internet for a solution, that they have lots of problems posted about their products with same problems or similar issues. My brother and friend were going to buy one because I showed them and they loved it but now I told them to research a different ones because of my problems. Too bad I waited two months before I started using it or I would have returned it. My bad for preparing for hunting season too soon. I guess a procrastinator would have been rewarded by being able to return to get full refund. :( ... show more

When you can see mice at 100 yards in a cut grass field . Yeah it’s pretty cool. The clarity on medium to full zoom is not good. Just gets blurry. For coyote , hunting, scouting, or even looking for hot or cold areas on house for heat loss this will work great . Will detect heat sources from 500+ yards that I have seen. Ive tried them all. beats the pulsar xq38. Better image quality, better price. Have the flir scout II, and the TM384. This device is in a whole different league. ID coyotes, hogs, deer etc up and beyond 175 yards easily. So far, 3 yotes smoked in one night, 5 hogs in the last trip. taipan worth every dime. ... show more
