The media could not be loaded. We finally decided to get an ice maker for our RV and for our bar as we are self-proclaimed cocktail aficionados. Plus, who are we kidding, this kind of nugget ice is fun when you have kids. Yes it is THAT kind of ice, that good good that you find at Sonic or in the hospital. The good: Fine build quality, super easy to setup and use, drain plugs easy to use and secure. Doesn't take up much space at all. Light in the ice chamber is cool. Ice quality is great and is made very fast - I timed it vs their claim of 5 minutes and it actually took about 6.5 minutes for first ice with better less "wet" ice coming after about 10 minutes. The basket fills up very quickly, in less than 30 minutes. It makes about 2.5 baskets of ice when the water is filled to the maximum marking. When I initially plugged in the machine I let it run for about a day and a half and there was always ice in the basket, though it would stop when the basket was full. The bad: Pretty loud when running. Compressor kicks on often, fan runs constantly. Door to remove ice is not insulated, but ice does seem to hang out in the tray for on demand use. If it does melt, it drips down into the water reservoir and presumably just gets made into ice again. Ice storage area is fairly small so this isn't something where you can load it up the night before and have like 20 lbs of ice for a cooler. It can make that much, but you'd have to be around to keep emptying the basket otherwise it wouldn't keep making ice. My wish list for something even better would be a larger ice storage area and one that is a little better insulated so the ice doesn't get softer as it sits around. Also, this is my first ice maker so I am not sure if it is similar in quality/speed to a cheaper alternative, I did notice there are some for $100-200 less but have no experience with those. I went for this one because of the volume of ice it can make in 24 hours and the build quality.

On the positive side: Very Quiet, sleek, smaller, large water storage of 3.7 liters (although I have no idea how that much fits in it, but it does).easy to operate. Comes with Auto Clean. And comes with spill tray ( which trust me you'll need) Negative side: The ice basket is incredibly small for a unit holding that much water. It literally only fills a half a 32oz cup if even that. You can't get the scoop they provided in there and your hand to get ice out without spilling everywhere. So you gotta take the ice basket out to get ice which makes a watery mess. For some reason the ice is incredibly wet. The grinder insider is accessible to little fingers, so its definitely an accident risk to little ones. The worst part is, while it does make the small "nugget ice". It is NOT near as soft as it should be. It's like chewing little hard rocks. I returned a Fridgeidare model without even opening it due to poor reviews on Amazon even know it ranks top 10 on all the other lists. Now I wish I would've kept that one. So this one is going back too, if I can find a way to get the box back together!

I did not know how much I needed an ice maker until I got this one. It’s very easy to use. Just put the water in and turn it on. It’s not very noisy and it makes great ice. The kids love it because they like to eat the ice. The ice cubes are small and easily fit in any water bottle.

It's *actually* the "sonic ice" texture that I've been hunting for! This is really nice ice maker. Super simple to fill and figure out, and they have made it so that if the ice starts to melt while in the tray, that water drips down into the fill tray and just recirculates to make fresh ice. From off and empty to the first ice nuggets pushing out, it takes five minutes and then it's pretty much a continuous process until it senses that the ice tray is full. It doesn't take long to get a full tray.

The media could not be loaded. Very Loud ice maker. I was so excited for my new ice maker and tried to drowned out the noise, but I just can't. It's so noisy and has to be running 24 hours if you always want ice because there is no freezer. The ice that is made just simply melts away. Also, the basket is very small. Enough for one big cup. I will be returning and trying to find a new ice maker.
