We bought this fan to replace an ancient and ugly fan, so this is a huge improvement! The media could not be loaded. Took about 40 minutes for me to install this fan by myself. Please note that you need an existing ceiling wire box. The instructions are very friendly, and include a page that shows what parts you need for which section. Reminded me of building blocks. I was a little confused by part(s) E because I thought they were screws, but are actually the downrod. Swapping the short downrod out for the longer one was simple, but was not covered by the instructions. The remote offers a wide range of features. The fan has six speeds, and can be switched from forward to reverse for winter use. On high the fan puts out a ton of air. Much more than a standard box fan. There is a "natural wind" mode that varies the fan speed to simulate natural wind. The light is very bright and illuminates a wide area. It can produce cool, warm, or mixed light. There are dimmer buttons on the remote, but they don't seem to do anything. There's also a security button that will activate the light for a few minutes every few hours so it looks like someone is home. All in all it's a very good ceiling fan and light. It really improved the room I put it in.

I needed a nice little ceiling fan to help out at church with one of our austistic children and the room was a bit to hot, so I picked up this ceiling fan and a drop ceiling mount to safely mount it in to our 'special room' in the nursery. This fan was just what our Children's Worker had in mind. It comes with a super nice remote control that gives easy access to speed controls and fit well in our ceiling for a perfect placement!
