I used it to drain a 3000 gallon pond this spring and it worked great. Takes a good while to move that much water but I wasn't in any hurry. It's rugged, well built, and didn't choke up or clog on all the crud at the bottom of the pond. I did pull it out and clean it off a couple of times but it was still working fine before I did that. Drains very close to the bottom of whatever surface it's placed on. Not very noisy at all; certainly not enough to get any negative feedback from the neighbors while it was running. Using it to drain our above ground pool . It works as advertised . Lifts water over 6 feet in the air with no problem Its built much better that the store that sells cheap tools . It drained about a foot of water in just under 2 hours . Thats fast . The best feature , is it drains down to 1/5 of an inch . Which is amazing since it does NOT stick to the vinyl causing it to stop pumping . Has plenty of power . I used a garden hose , So i cant wait to try it out with a 1 1/2 in vacuum hose . It has a small footprint and can fit anywhere you need it . I can just imagine the other projects I can use this for : basement , standing water under carport . The media could not be loaded. This pump works as expected and emptying the doggie pool much faster. Easy to operate as well. The only thing that kinda bothers me is, the unit leaks while pumping water, as you see in the video. I am not sure if this is normal.

I was a little concerned about this needing a bunch of room for the float to operate as it should because I was wanting to add this as a backup. I ended up using zip ties to shorten the float so that it didn’t need a lot of room. It works great! It pumps at a good pace and isn’t loud. The size ended up being perfect. I haven’t had to clean it yet so I am not sure how difficult it is to clean. A great value! ... show more

In order for this pump to turn on with the float, you would seriously need two feet of water. If you turn the float over to force it to turn on, it will blow out once there is no water to pump. It is a decent pump if you're draining a pool or similar, but it's not effective for what I purchased it for. ... show more

I wish it had a bigger handle so i could fit the end of a pool brush in it. Otherwise, it moves a lot of water. Drained my 15k gallon pool in less than half a day. Just put a 1 1/2” or 2” hose on the outlet to get full flow and then cut the hose adapter back to your size so it isn’t choked down. Don’t rely on the float switch for anything more than gross level start-stop. Probably fine for a sump. ... show more
