Item Shape: Thin Grill Basket
I do like this grill basket. However the photo is deceiving. You see steak. This particular grill does not hold a thick piece of meat or fish. Anything more than 1/2-3/4 " thick and you are unable to close the grill basket. I will need to look for another that holds thicker meats/fish. Meantime I do use this basket for thinner burgers, vegetables, shrimp. It works well for those, makes grilling easier and is also very easy to clean. I like the bag to store it in. Very convenient. I used it twice: once for asparagus and once for shrimp. Shrimp grilling was a success. Definitely will grill shrimps again. Asparagus was a bit failure. When raw, they fit nicely inside. However once they started to shrink they started to move inside the grill, and a few of them slided through the grill. So for thin items, I would not recommend using it. But for thicker items, it is great. I am looking forward to grilling fish. To clean, I put it in the dishwasher top rack, it came out nice and clean. ... show more

I have a medium sized cooler/container that I use to keep my camping dishes+ in, and this foldable hand-held grill cage fits perfectly alongside my camping dishes—already impressed. The handle folds into the center of the grate, and then slides easily into the included storage pouch as a nice rectangle (not oddly shaped). Also included is a flat “potholder”, if you will, to place the hot grill grate onto—if you have a tablecloth or else on your table. This works better than it appears it might work—another plus. I do think this one is harder to clean, but that’s because I cook my vegetarian “meats” on it, and then my partner and daughter cook their real meats on it—and I’m always a little weary that some meat-meat is still on it—we usually let it burn off, so not a huge negative, just something to consider. ... show more

Used this for prawns over coals. The handle is very flimsy and insecure. That's not great as the prawns fell out when trying to turn them over. The steel quality is OK and I like it came with a basting brush. That said, keeping the food enclosed and secure is key and it simply doesn't do that.

I just ordered a second unit. I see some folks have fussy issues cleaning. When im done I kick the whole grill and basket to high. Im sorry, but a temperature of 600+ is clean enough for me. That even kills mad cow prions. wire brush inside and out and park it in the grill until next time. only one issue one time the grill caught fire. I suspect it went 700+. It turned the handle to charcoal. Still works fine. I run a smoker and plan to stack the 2 at one time. schmoke. putz. beast. ... show more

You have to leave the handle hanging out of the grill so it doesn’t burn. Will not accommodate larger or thicker items. We loaded it up with some okra - delicious grilled! Looking forward to grilling other veggies!

We used these baskets for ribs and burgers, it was great. A lot less mess and easy to handle the meat. You can flip the meat so easy. We just love ours, you will too.
