This AC Vent booster comes packaged with the insert itself, the power supply, a remote and set of instruction. It can be controlled from the unit itself or the included remote. It is almost completely made of plastic. My first observation of this is that the plastic used for the grill is flimsy. Under no circumstance would I trust this in a floor vent where someone might stand or a table or chair leg might rest. The grill would snap like a twig. That being said, had they advertised this as a "wall only" product, I would have fewer concerns but the product information clearly indicates that floor mounting is an option. It is important to me that products are accurately depicted in their advertising. That issue is reflected in my review, and this grill plastic is way too flimsy for floor mounting. My rating would be more like three and a half stars that were an option. Moving on; installation and getting it up and running is pretty simple. It has settings for it to run automatically or manually. In theory this is supposed to boost a temperature condition in the room where it is installed. The first thing you should know is that this, at least in my case, really doesn't do much when the AC is running. My AC volume far surpasses the output of this fan at any setting. That may not be the case for others though. For me, the best case was to squeak the last remaining residual temperature from the ductwork once the furnace or AC stopped which I was able to do by having the fan kick on whenever the temp dropped below or above a desired target. That way it basically ran whenever the furnace was not running. It did a good job of drawing the remaining temps from the ductwork architecture and then would merely circulate the air which it does pretty well. Keep in mind, if the AC/furnace is off, when this is running, it will most likely draw the most air from the path of least resistance which in most cases, is the next closest vent. Something to keep in mind. The remote is decent and full featured. The product is pretty quiet in one if the automatic modes but manually running at a high speeds can get noisy. I also tried out the aromatherapy feature by adding some scented oil to one of the pads and this worked quite well. The only drawback here is you may have to do this frequently as the pads dry out in a couple days based on my (almost always on) usage. It is a fun feature though. If you are looking for a good way to circulate some room air, work the last few degrees out of you ducts and scent a location, this does work but like I said, I wouldn't use it as a floor vent.

The power cord is nice and long. The display has a timer to go dark when not in use. The unit is very adjustable. Airflow is low, but it’s not a fan. The adapter is rated to 12 volts, so the booster fan can be used in an RV, car, or other low-voltage DC power applications. A solar panel with a DC step-down converter would allow this unit to work during hot sunny days, venting my chicken coop. This unit uses very low power and is great for off-grid use. Good value considering that you don’t have to build a full-sized system, and only external installation is required.

The bulky build blocks the airflow as much as it boost the flow so no real net benefits! Also, one was kinda quiet but the other was noisy. (I ordered 2) i sent them back. I do not recommend.
