I was skeptical, but pleasantly surprised by how smooth and even it made my skin look without making it look matte, which I don't like as it accentuates winkles in my 60 year old skin. I’m a 39-year-old grandma (yes, that’s real) with a disabled vet body and a face that’s basically a scrapbook of bad decisions and genetics. Massive pores, fine lines, wrinkles, sunspots, chicken pox scars—you name it. If skin could qualify as a “fixer-upper,” mine would be listed as “great potential, needs full renovation.” The feel: This primer surprised me. It’s smooth, dry, and powdery—like cornstarch, baby powder, or one of those mythical moisturizers that doesn’t leave you looking like you fell asleep in a pizza box. It doesn’t suffocate your skin, and that’s a win. The look: The clear formula is a blessing and a curse. On the plus side, there are no harsh lines if you miss a spot—so you won’t walk around looking like your face stopped at the border of your jawline. On the downside, maybe it’s because it’s clear that it doesn’t quite bulldoze my pores the way I’d like. Performance: It’s good—better than plenty I’ve tried—but if I’m honest, Rimmel’s Stay Matte still holds the crown for me. That one grips harder and makes my skin behave longer. This one smooths things, but doesn’t quite convince me I’m not 39 going on “grandma tired.” The value: Price-wise, it’s great. Totally fair for what it does. My gripe? The tube is too small. I have been using this products for over 25 years to help smooth imperfections and enlarged pores on my nose and chin. It fact, after using it on those areas, I usually pat a little bit over my entire face. It does not do away with deep wrinkles; however, it does diminish the appearance and makes my skin look much smoother. It is odorless, inexpensive and does a pretty good camouflage. The primer I like is kind of pricy so I decided to try this one based on high reviews. Nope, it’s not worth saving money on it because it affects how your skin looks more than the foundation does. This is essentially Vaseline, feels like it and has the same consistency. When my Mom saw me after I used it the first time, she immediately asked me if I changed my skin makeup and advised me to go back to whatever I was doing before—so it wasn’t just my perception of it. ... show more

Works great. I have used this for years because it really makes my makeup last. I use so much less foundation because it doesn’t seep into my pores. A compact of foundation lasts me months now. It’s worth the purchase for the money you will save on foundation alone.
