As a primer newbie, I stumbled upon the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer Makeup through TikTok, and I'm beyond thrilled with the results! Having tried seven other primers, this one easily takes the crown and has become an essential part of my makeup routine. My struggle with large pores has always left me feeling self-conscious, longing for that flawless look many women seem to effortlessly possess. While I had my doubts, this primer surprised me with its before and after effects. The transformation was truly remarkable, leaving me amazed by the smoothness it brought to my skin. Application is a breeze with this product, gliding on like a dream. The texture is so silky and lightweight that it feels like it's melting into the skin. However, I did experience some minor issues with makeup layering at the beginning, but that's mostly due to my lack of experience with primers. I’m a 39-year-old grandma (yes, that’s real) with a disabled vet body and a face that’s basically a scrapbook of bad decisions and genetics. Massive pores, fine lines, wrinkles, sunspots, chicken pox scars—you name it. If skin could qualify as a “fixer-upper,” mine would be listed as “great potential, needs full renovation.” The feel: This primer surprised me. It’s smooth, dry, and powdery—like cornstarch, baby powder, or one of those mythical moisturizers that doesn’t leave you looking like you fell asleep in a pizza box. It doesn’t suffocate your skin, and that’s a win. The look: The clear formula is a blessing and a curse. On the plus side, there are no harsh lines if you miss a spot—so you won’t walk around looking like your face stopped at the border of your jawline. On the downside, maybe it’s because it’s clear that it doesn’t quite bulldoze my pores the way I’d like. Performance: It’s good—better than plenty I’ve tried—but if I’m honest, Rimmel’s Stay Matte still holds the crown for me. That one grips harder and makes my skin behave longer. This one smooths things, but doesn’t quite convince me I’m not 39 going on “grandma tired.” The value: Price-wise, it’s great. Totally fair for what it does. My gripe? The tube is too small. I need a size that screams “bulk warehouse,” not “tiny purse sample.” Bottom line: Great for makeup… terrible at covering regret, trauma, and three decades of questionable life choices. 4 stars.

I bought this for Mother’s Day for my mama! I wanted to give her a fresh new makeup setup so this paired with a few other makeup items were given to her. Everything I purchased was either for anti-aging, had collagen/VitE, pore blurring, moisturizing, or skin tightening. This was purchased within those categories. When she opened her gifts, my next gift to her was doing her makeup so she knows how to use them and then taking her out to dinner. When I tell you… her makeup looked STUNNING! I didn’t use any crazy techniques nor much product but the combination of makeup items just worked! Love this stuff!

The primer I like is kind of pricy so I decided to try this one based on high reviews. Nope, it’s not worth saving money on it because it affects how your skin looks more than the foundation does. This is essentially Vaseline, feels like it and has the same consistency. When my Mom saw me after I used it the first time, she immediately asked me if I changed my skin makeup and advised me to go back to whatever I was doing before—so it wasn’t just my perception of it.

I would buy it again and again. It really does blur large pores. I would recommend that we find a way to reduce pore sizes altogether, but this is the next best thing to help improve your skin texture, prior to wearing your make up. Buy it! You will not be disapointed.
