  • Helped Clear up a MRSA Infection
This stuff is fabulous! I actually bought it to apply to my dog's burst tumor while we waited for the vet to have time to do surgery on her. It worked so well that after the surgery I used it on the surgery site to speed up the healing. The vet was shocked at how fast the surgery site was healing; close to 3x the speed she normally saw. I then used it on some minor injuries on myself and they healed at over 4x the normal speed for an equivalent injury. (I heal slowly, so things that normally would have healed in 1-2 months were healing in a little over 1 week!) This past winter I came down with a fever and a bad abscess on my temple. I went to the emergency clinic and the doctor tested the fluid from the abscess, which he identified as a MRSA staph infection. Amazingly, just over a week before this a new antibiotic was released that was supposed to work on this form of staph infection. Turns out that I was deadly allergic to the antibiotic. Of course, there was nothing else that standard western medicine could do for me... Since I wasn't willing to die, I decided to see what else might work. I tried a lot of products over the next 5 months and 6 additional abscesses on my face and neck; each one measuring between 2"-4" in diameter. (Silver is one of the few products known to be able to kill staph infections, and which the staph cannot develop an immunity to. I had tried to use several different silver products, but they were too harsh and burned the tissue, making it more susceptible to the MRSA.) Then I stumbled on Silver Honey. (Honey is known as an antibacterial and anti-fungal as well as a wound sealer.) Finally my abscesses started healing. Admittedly, this was only 1 part of the treatment I was using. The method that finally cleared up my MRSA staph infections, and stopped them from returning over the last 6 months, is as follows (included in case it will save anyone else's life): 1.) I made a tea from cloves, chamomile, and nettle leaf to use as both a compress and then a flush. (The clove tea makes a deep numbing agent that lasts for around 15 minutes, during which time I could do anything to the abscess without pain. The chamomile and nettle leaf are both anti-fungal and antibacterial, in addition to being healing agents that sooth damaged tissue and help them recover.) 2.) Once the tea was cool enough that it wouldn't hurt, I made a compress using some large teabags I bought here on amazon. I then wrapped them in a few paper towels to make certain none of the plant matter could get into the abscesses and cause further problems. This helped to both open the abscess up for cleaning, relax the tissues so cleaning would be more productive, and numb the area so I could start flushing the abscess without too much pain. 3.) I flushed the abscess with Bactine, which provided an initial cleansing and numbed the tissue inside the abscess enough for me to get deeper into the abscess to flush and clean. 4.) I used the clove, chamomile, and nettle leaf tea as a flush inside the abscess, so I could work the infection loose, from deeper and deeper into the abscess, and squeeze out all the infection and MRSA staph bacteria. 5.) I used SkinSmart Antimicrobial Facial Cleanser Spray as another flush, continuing to work out as much of the infection and bacteria as possible. (Note that each flush was repeated multiple times, followed by my attempting to move all the infection towards, and out of, the opening of the nearest abscess. Sometimes I alternated between flushes to get more clove tea into the abscess so I could keep the tissue painless enough to continue emptying all the infection from the abscesses. Also note that I never reused a compress, so the tea was never contaminated. This allowed me to know that I was never adding bacteria back into my abscesses.) 6.) Finally I packed the abscesses with SilverHoney. Once I started using this combination, the abscesses started healing up fast. The oldest ones were fully healed in about 4 days, the newest ones took 3-4 weeks. The most challenging part was keeping the abscesses open long enough to squeeze out all of the staff bacteria. It has now been 6 months and so far I've not seen any indications that I still have any of the MRSA staph bacteria. Given that the abscesses were showing up faster and faster, I have lots of hope that I am finally free of the bacteria. (From the time that the 1st abscess showed up, it took 2 months until the 2nd abscess appeared; 1 month later the 3rd abscess showed up; 2 weeks later the 4rd appeared; 1 week later the 5th appeared; the 6th was about 3 days later; and the 7th just about 18 hours later.) ... show more

  • WAY better than the old ointments. Very impressive.
This is a real-deal product! I got it for an abscess on my cat’s chin and it worked great for that. Then I accidentally slammed a flat head screwdriver into my hand (because I’m a genius obviously) and was impressed with how well it healed. A week later, a kitten jumped off my wife’s face in the middle of the night and sliced her eyelid from one side clear across to the other and down the side of her face. It looked grisly. Couldn’t do much other than gently apply this cream a few times with a swab to keep it from getting in her eye. 4 days later, she cleaned the wound and it damn near disappeared. I’m blown away not just at how fast it healed but how well it healed. I wasn’t planning on doing so many field tests in such a short period, but I can definitely attest that this works. I’m never going back to other antiseptic creams. ... show more

  • Works great, but can make dog's hair very thin
Works great, but can make dog's hair very thin. My dog has Cushing disease. We only use for a few days and allow the wound to heal on it's own. If we apply until wound is completely healed then her around the area comes out pretty bad

  • Worked well for us for both a cat and a dog
I bought this silver honey wound ointment for our cat when he was attacked by another cat and the wound was infected. We did take him to the vet, got him shots and all of that, but the wound was still leaking and needed help to heal from the inside out. Our vet had said they would give us a prescription antibiotic, but I had heard amazing things about silver and the Absorbine name is something I trust, so I wanted to try this. I was not disappointed. Our cat's wound healed quickly and well using this ointment. It was easy to apply, stayed on the wound, and healed him up quickly. I am so happy with the results of this product, I tell all of my friends about it. *Update* Several months after my original review, my dog chewed her paw to the point that she took off a layer from one of her pads. In the past, we have taken her to the vet and gotten her an antibiotic ointment. I wanted to try Silver Honey first this time. I am SO glad that we did! Within days, the wound was healing nicely, with the aid of keeping a sock on her paw so she wouldn't lick at it and the wound would stay clean. In less than a week, her paw looks much better and we are so happy with this product! It has healed both our cat and our dog nicely, saving us hundreds of dollars that would have been otherwise wasted at the vet. Disclosure: I am NOT a vet and I am not saying that if your pet is hurt you should not take it to the vet. This product worked VERY well for us, and I CANNOT guarantee those results for everyone. ... show more

  • Great Results!
This is a great product to heal wounds! I use it on our equines, but also on myself and have recommended it to other family & friends. All have seen great results. This seems to heal a wound from the inside out.
