I am happy with the ABC Fleck water softener and filter I purchased, but NOT the plumbing service to install via Amazon with “Pro Plumbers”. Do not use this Amazon install service for plumbing. Plants at hardware stores are warrantied 4 times longer than their 90 days. Amazon disabled the feedback on the Installation Service in my order history so adding positive rating for the softener, but comments are applicable to the installation of the softener. I highly recommend you research your local plumbers and confirm they can install this softener product for you. We incorrectly assumed that for $594 to install the softener in the garage that they would send a professional that could not only set up the softener properly but ensure that it was done so in a way we would not have to experience leaks or breaking connections for a few years. If there were a leak 4.5 months after an install it should be repaired by the installer in quick fashion. It was not. Unfortunately, on day 130 we had a huge leak in the garage. We of course followed up with Amazon services and they have a happiness guarantee that is good for 90 days. So just a month and a half over 90 days and you must start over with your local plumber. The Amazon agent said he would contact the plumber and maybe he would help. He was to follow up with me the next day, but I never received an email, text or call from anyone. We obviously needed the water to our home back on so I found a local plumber. The local plumber that came out the next day for us indicated the plumber used PVC and metal connections in a way he had not seen in a while AND that it looked like he had tightened one of the connections too much and used putty or plumbers’ tape to keep it just right for a few months before the leak occurred all over our garage. I don’t care what process plumbers use, I just want it to work and not to leak. Anyway, another $230 to have that repaired and working again. The installation is an important item to warranty and having someone local on plumbing issues is a good idea anyway. ... show more

Purchased this water softener system a little over a year ago (February 2019) and since it was installed we have had issues with leaking and changes to water has been minimal. The first leak started from the carbon filtration system. The system was leaking from the main connection to the tank as well as the water valves from the tanks. Their customer service sent us new washers to replace the connector valves but we still had leaking from the main connection to the tank once the water was running through the system. The only way we were able to get the water to stop leaking was to add tape to the seal. Now today the water valves from the tank started leaking AGAIN. Since you only get a 60 day return warranty, I tried to seal it using "Flex Seal" spray which did not work. Lastly, the water quality of the system has been subpar. I had a plumber come out and confirm that the system was set up correctly. We have "Salt" deposits on multiple items in our house (See Shower Head), we have changed the salt level multiple times but still the same result. Also, you do not get the soft feel of water like you do with other systems. Again I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND purchasing this system. You will start having issues when your warranty runs out and you will be stuck with a system that you paid over a $1000 for trying to perform "Do It Yourself" fixes. ... show more

    • Great system. Can't believe I ever lived without it!
This was one of the first items purchased for our new home in Austin, TX (Lakeway area). The water was absurdly hard and my wife's eczema was in full flare. We've been using this system for about 4 months now and absolutely love it. I'm a DIY'er by heart, so it took me all of 30 minutes to install this. Just make sure you buy the appropriately sized connector hoses to your house..don't buy the ones here (Sorry ABC, but your prices for hoses are WAY too expensive.) I bought them for about half the price from my local home supply store. If you have the water main loop in your garage (as most newer houses do), you'll be up-and-running in no time. The instructions were super clear and the fact they included a hard water test was a nice touch, so that you can program the unit accordingly. As an added tip, make sure and drain your hot water tanks completely or it will take a few days to fully get the soft water thru your system. ... show more

Ordered on May 26, 2019 not sure it even works or if it ever worked., but it looks nice. It goes through a lot of salt (about 3 bags of salt every 2.5 weeks) Salt bags says 3 bags per month for a family of 4. Do you have a service department or recommend a service company to com check it out? Description says: 5 year manufactures warranty This item is non-returnable, but if the item arrives damaged or defective, you may request a refund or replacement.”, How do you suggest we go about this? ... show more

with our research for water softeners abcwaters softener system seemed to fit our need and now our expectations. the customer service was great and I was able to get a host of questions answered before and after the installation. use their text service which is great and responds much more quickly than their voice customer service. the system they sent is quite easy to install, though we had to do a bit of structural changes to get it to fit in the closet under the stairs but the dimensions were detailed enough for us to make the decision even before buying the system. I didn't order the system with the pipes that connects the two tanks which was my bad so don't forget to buy the system with the connectors. also make sure that there is a space/exit for the regeneration water to be led out to the drain. that one make the process a bit more difficult but we were able figure it out as well. overall this system gets my thumbs up! ... show more
