This unit (acekool 18k BTU R410) is stunning for the price and capability. I installed it a couple months ago in a 3 car garage to keep from dying of heat exhaustion in the 105f summers here. It wasn't difficult to install, but when I finally turned it on and could feel a cold breeze of air on the opposite wall I knew it was up to the task. It can yank the temperature in the garage down 10-15 degrees in an hour and then it just sits there drying out the air and circulating it at low speed. The darn garage is more comfortable than my house with its 10s of thousands of dollars in central air units. Especially irritating as there is something like a 5-10x price difference in far less advanced central AC unit that doesn't have variable speed compressors/fans/etc and is much lower seer. This thing seems to draw about 1/3rd the power of a similar central air capacity unit that cools my upstairs. Frankly stunning. But on that note while it comes with 15 foot refrigerant lines, it's probably worthwhile to assure that the unit is installed immediately on the opposite side of the wall from the indoor unit as I'm guessing that helps it's efficiency even more, as it doesn't actually have a liquid line. As others have noted it does tend to cool a bit more than the setpoint seems to indicate but at least some of that is because the air near my ceiling is a couple degrees warmer than near the floor when it's running. It's also almost dead silent outside most of the time unlike my central AC units which have the usual fan/etc noises when they are running. Similarly inside, when it's completely silent there is just the quite sounds of air moving rather than a big fan blasting air.

The energy consumption is low, which helps save on electricity bills. Extremely hard to install. It has been 30 days of trying to get this installed. Won’t blow cold air, guy said the refrigerant could have leaked out. He said it’s not self contained. He had to get an adapter and special items in order to install this that has added to around $500 as well as line covers for the outside of the house. They are not inc. extremely heavy! This is NOT a DIY, too complicated!

The unit arrived quickly after placed the order. It is for our new office about 300sqft. Installation is easy and all needed parts are included. It is also very quiet and nice looking. This October was very hot in Phoenix and this machine performed really well. Hope it will last long enough.

Purchased the 9000 BTU for an outbuilding office/shed. Easy install with just a bit of pro assistance vacuuming the lines. The unit is very quiet, and sips electricity; when it is running, it uses about 200-400 watts.

I bought the 9,000 BTU Acekool unit model number CMS9 Pro. You can check the AHRI directory for detailed energy efficiency ratings. All in all this is a good unit. Unfortunately the biggest con is that the interior temperature sensor is off by about 4-5 degrees. If I want the room to be 72 degrees I need to set the thermostat to 77 degrees. Also when the unit was new it put out an oily mechanical smell during heating mode. I did not smell it during cooling. Other than that, the unit was a good purchase. It has great efficiency using about 271 watts in heating mode with an outside ambient temperature of 55 degrees F. Installation was somewhat involved, however with the correct tools the job is very manageable. This is the 4th A/C unit I have installed. I have saved thousands of dollars by doing it myself even after investing in the tools. I recommend that you buy these additional items: 1. Flaring kit for cutting the tubing to a shorter length 2. Nylog Blue for sealing connections 3. High quality dual stage vacuum pump 4. Micron vacuum gauge 5. Valve core removal tool 5/16" 6. Nitrogen tank and regulator 7. Big Blu Brush On MicroLeak Detector Blue 8. Nitrogen tank A few things I learned along the way: 1. Install a GFCI receptacle nearby. This is a code requirement and it helps with the vacuum pump. 2. Install an electrical disconnect. This is also a code requirement. 3. If possible install the unit on the North side of the building to avoid UV exposure and reduce ambient heat. 4. Use a wall mount or pour a concrete pad. Check the minimum heights required by code. 5. If the indoor unit will be more than 16ft apart, call a professional. They will need to calculate and fill additional R410 based on each additional linear foot of piping. 6. if the unit is less than 16ft away I recommend cutting the piping shorter and flare the ends.
