Modern
Set name: Honda Civic 2016-2021
This 9-inch Android 13 head unit is a substantial upgrade for a compatible 2016–2021 Honda Civic, replacing the older factory infotainment experience with a larger touchscreen and considerably more connectivity. The vehicle-specific bezel also helps the finished installation blend naturally into the dashboard rather than looking like a generic tablet added afterward. The 9-inch 1280×720 QLED display provides plenty of room for maps, music controls, and other information without becoming excessively large for the Civic's center console. The screen is bright and easy to read, although direct sunlight can introduce some glare and slightly wash out the colors. Android 13 runs with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is a useful configuration for navigation, music, downloaded apps, and everyday multitasking. Performance is generally responsive, and the additional storage provides plenty of room for offline maps and media without immediately requiring external storage. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are among the most useful improvements. Once paired, a compatible phone can reconnect automatically, putting navigation, music, calls, messages, Spotify, and other supported functions directly on the larger display without requiring a cable every time the car is started. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 add further flexibility for hotspot connectivity, streaming, app downloads, and hands-free calling. Built-in GPS also allows navigation applications to run directly on the head unit, including downloaded maps for situations where an internet connection is unavailable. Split-screen mode makes particularly good use of the larger display because navigation can remain visible alongside music or another compatible application. Phone mirroring provides another option when content from a compatible smartphone needs to be displayed directly on the head unit. The included 1080P rear camera is a useful addition, providing a wide-angle reversing view on the 9-inch display. Steering wheel control integration also preserves convenient access to frequently used functions without requiring the driver to reach for the touchscreen. Installation is designed around plug-and-play harnesses and adapters, and owners report good dashboard fitment without cutting or splicing the factory wiring. It is still sensible to connect and test CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS, audio channels, steering wheel controls, Bluetooth, and the reversing camera before permanently reinstalling the dashboard panels. There are some compromises compared with a premium factory or major-brand head unit. One owner reported slower CarPlay and Android Auto connection times, less responsive menus, and audio quality that was not quite as refined as the original system. These experiences appear to vary, but they are worth considering rather than expecting flagship-level performance from every installation. Overall, this is a well-equipped upgrade that adds a large QLED touchscreen, Android 13, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, split-screen operation, steering wheel controls, and a 1080P reversing camera. For the correct 2016–2021 Civic configuration, it provides an impressive amount of newer-vehicle functionality while retaining a clean, integrated dashboard appearance. :) ... show more

Great upgrade
Set name: Honda Civic 2016-2021
No other single upgrade you could do that would make a bigger difference for a Civic that missed out on the modern touchscreen CarPlay/AA era. I cannot make too big a deal over how much this changes the interior looks of your car as well as the experience driving it. Wow. What a difference. Kinda like driving a new car. Almost :) Instructions are a bit light but install is pretty straight forward. The hardest part, running the backup cam wire, isn't really hard just it takes the most time. Considering all the connectivity options, the sound quality, all the functionality, this is really a no-brainer for an older car and a great value. Lots of functionality. Navigation, sound, bluetooth, everything works the way I expected. Unit arrived well packaged, no damage or missing parts. It comes with all cables needed for single or dual climate zones. Instructions are straight forward & relatively easy to follow. Installation was pretty easy, pretty much Plug and Play. The hardest part is routing the power cords which isn't really hard, just takes time and patience. There are plenty of YouTube videos that will guide you through the process, which I recommend watching a couple before starting, so you have a better idea of the steps. I would recommend hooking up/connecting everything whether you think you will use it or not to avoid having to reopen the unit after installation. Navigating through the functions are fast and seamless without any glitching of slowdowns. Backup camera is the hardest part of the install but works very well, even at night. The screen is a highlight. It is bright, clear, and very responsive to touch. Moving between menus and apps is smooth with no noticeable delay, and the colors are vivid which makes maps, album art, and apps easy to see. Your controls should work from the bottom of the radio as well as from the touch screen. If touchscreen doesn't work here, maybe you didn't connect the small interconnecting wire harnesses on the back of the radio. GPS runs reliably without lag, and having WiFi built in makes it easy to download updates or stream. Bluetooth call quality is clear, and music sounds better than before thanks to the improved audio processing. The best feature about it is the reverse camera. Fit perfectly. Great upgrade for the price. ... show more

Turned my wife's Civic dash into a big-screen upgrade she loves
Set name: Honda Civic 2016-2021
My wife's 2016 Civic had that small, dated factory screen, so I picked this 9-inch unit to modernize her dash, and she loves it. The size jump alone transforms the interior, with a bright, crisp display that makes the old factory unit look tiny by comparison. What she appreciates most is the wireless CarPlay, since her phone connects on its own the moment she gets in with no cable to fumble with, and her maps, music, and calls come right up on the big screen. For her daily drive that hands-free convenience has been the winner. The plug-and-play fit for the Civic made the swap far easier than I expected. It was designed for the 2016 to 2021 Civic, so it dropped into the dash and connected up without cutting or splicing, and the trim looked factory once it was in. Running Android 13 with a decent amount of storage, it feels responsive moving between apps, the backup camera feed comes in clear for parking, and being able to use CarPlay or the built-in Android apps gives her flexibility. A couple of honest notes. Even though it is plug-and-play, it is still a head-unit swap, so give yourself a little time and care with the connectors, or have it installed if you are not comfortable. You will also want a microSD card for offline maps or media, and it has only been in a short while, so I cannot yet speak to how it holds up over years of heat and cold, though it has worked flawlessly so far. For a big-screen, wireless-CarPlay upgrade that fits the Civic cleanly and made my wife genuinely happy with her car again, this has been a great pickup. ... show more

Very easy upgrade for a worn out old Civic stereo system.
Set name: Honda Civic 2016-2021
We picked up an older Honda Civic as an extra car for our teen who just turned 16, and the factory stereo was barely working anymore, so it was time for an upgrade. This llboiti unit was a great replacement because it gives the car a cleaner look and feel with the 9-inch touchscreen, wireless CarPlay, and Android Auto. The plug-and-play setup was a big plus since we wanted to replace the old radio without turning it into a major project. Having GPS navigation, voice control, and a large screen makes it much more convenient for a new driver, especially when using maps and music on the go. The one downside is that the touchscreen can take a little getting used to, and it would be nice if it responded a bit faster at times. Minus the screen lag, it's a nice way to bring an older Civic up to date without spending a fortune. ... show more

I Don’t Need All That Going On in the Background
Set name: Honda Civic 2016-2021
The home screen is a little busy for my taste. Between the graphics, shortcuts, and information, it gives me plenty to look at before I’ve actually asked it to do anything. After spending some time with it, I found myself going straight into the functions I wanted rather than hanging around that screen. The display itself looks good, though, and the touch response has been consistent. What I like about the finished setup is how it stays within the center section of the dash. The vents and hazard button remain easy to reach, and the controls below still look like part of the same interior. Installing it took some patience seating the frame evenly, but I was pleased with the fit once everything was back together. I’m happy with the upgrade overall. There’s a bit of setup involved before it feels like my radio instead of a demonstration of everything the radio can do, but once I got comfortable with it, everyday use was straightforward. ... show more

A Fantastic Modern Upgrade for The Honda Civic
Set name: Honda Civic 2016-2021
After installing this 9-inch car infotainment system, the entire center console looks much more modern. The screen size is more noticeable than the original head unit, but it blends in naturally with the dashboard without appearing out of place. The Android 13 system, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, makes daily use of GPS navigation, Bluetooth music, and commonly used car apps smooth. Switching between multiple functions is seamless, and there's ample space for offline maps and downloaded apps. The 9-inch screen provides clear navigation routes, and the touch response is sensitive. Connecting to Wi-Fi or a mobile hotspot allows access to online maps and other network functions. Voice control is very practical; while driving, you can use voice commands to find routes, make calls, or select music, reducing the need to look down at the screen. During installation, I first connected all the plugs and protocol boxes, and then tested each component—left and right channels, wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS, Bluetooth, steering wheel buttons, and the reversing camera—before securing the panel. Only after confirming everything was working correctly did I complete the installation. Initial setup requires a little time to configure the network, time, navigation, sound effects, and phone connection, but once set up, daily operation is very intuitive. Overall, this car infotainment system integrates Android 13, a 9-inch screen, wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS, and voice control, which not only enhances the technological feel of the Civic's center console but also truly improves the navigation, entertainment, and hands-free calling experience. The operating speed, functionality, and overall effect after installation all met my expectations, making it a very worthwhile upgrade. ... show more

Clean 9 inch upgrade for a tenth-gen Civic
Set name: Honda Civic 2016-2021
Installed in a 2018 Civic, this 9 inch unit went in plug and play with the correct dash frame and harness, filling the opening cleanly. The screen is bright with quick response, and the fit looked factory in the Civic dash. Running the microphone and the backup camera was the only extra work, and the install ran a little over an hour. First boot was quick and the interface is the familiar Android home screen. On the road the wireless CarPlay and Android Auto connect fast and stay connected, a big step up from the basic factory unit. GPS locks quickly, Bluetooth pairs immediately for calls and audio, and the steering wheel controls mapped after a short setup. The touchscreen responds without lag, and the sound improved clearly over the factory unit once I set the EQ. It handled everyday driving without any hiccups. Several weeks in it has been stable with fast boots and no freezes or reboots, and the mounting is solid with no rattles over bumps. The screen has stayed crisp and bright. For a tenth-generation Civic of 2016 to 2021, this is an inexpensive upgrade that brings smartphone integration, navigation, and a backup camera together in a clean install. The tidy fit makes it a dependable pick for that generation of Civic. ... show more
