I cant bend, twist, reach, push, or pull for two months. This kit is awesome! I couldn’t believe how cool the sock thing was! Only negative is the reaching tools don’t grab hard plastic very well.     • Most items great, two items need attention
I had a hip replacement and ordered this kit. PROS: I love the two grippers. I have the shorter one in my bathroom and the longer one in my bedroom. I have used the grippers a lot. I have not put shoes on yet, but the opposite end of the grippers has a shoe horn which will be helpful as my doctor and physical therapist said not to bend past 90 degrees. My favorite piece is the sock aid. It works well and is actually fun to use. I know that sounds silly, but when depending on others for so darn much, being able to put on my own socks is an accomplishement. I have used the dressing aid stick to help undress. I use the grippers to help dress. I have not had the need to use the button hook, but it looks like it would work just fine. CONS: The leg lifter is flimsy. It had to be bent to fit in the box and when unbent, I felt unstable when I used it. I threw it away and instead used a yoga strap. The leg lifter is not wide enough. This item should be replaced with wide mesh belt material. The long handled bath sponge is not long handled. I find it odd that it is considered long handled as it is only 13" long. If this is considered long, I wonder the length of a short one! I like the brush and scrubber on the head, but the handle is not nearly long enough. The brush I have from Bed Bath & Beyond is 3 inches longer than the one in this kit. What would make this brush better is a longer length and a strap on the end because it will be dropped. Once dropped, since hip replacement folks cannot bend past 90 degrees, it is not usable that particular shower unless someone can pick it up again. Downgrade to 3. I really like the design of the longer grabber, and used several times daily following hip surgery. But it brike snappin off at the handle junction and is now broken. Still need a grabber for another 6 wk. Will look to see if another brand has similar design or to take another chance on one of these though given the snap off the material is either subpar to begin with or a fluke. The little grabber as I wrote before is defective and useless. It is a shame, the design is good, but the company appear to have inadequate quality control of the production process. Product bought to use for safely dressing after broken hip repair. In hospital now. 6 pieces in kit work as expected. 23 inch grabber dowles not close to pick up items, and the jaw pieces aren't as securely attached to grabber as for longer grabber that works quite well. Can't find the old contact seller tab to find out if this one item can be replaced, or it the whole kit needs to be returned and replaced like AMAZON wants. So I guess the moral of the story is buying a kit may not be best, and this is one of the sets to buy local rather than on AMAZON, since the return rules don't make sense to me if only one of 6 items doesn't work.. but I don't like paying for the defective item either. ... show more

    • Not very sturdy but reasonably useful
I'm two weeks past an anterior total hip replacement and I bought this 6 weeks ago. Like another reviewer stated: the useful parts break. Both grabbers broke at the folding point. I can still use the short grabber as I taped it back together. The dressing stick splintered as soon as I put the two parts together. Still useful, but not as much as it would be if it hadn't broken. The leg lifter has been helpful. The sock puller -- the foam on the bottom to grip socks was torn upon receipt but thankfully, I had another one so it wasn't a big deal. I liked the design of the grabber/shoe horn but since all the most important parts broke...I can't recommend this at all. Edit: I'm now two months past hip replacement and the only parts of this set still together are the leg lifter and the button/zipper puller. Even the sponge on the sock puller has torn off .. and none by misuse. The clothes helper, which had already been duct taped together, broke at the useful end. I suppose it was useful for the month or so that I *really* needed it but it's not worth spending your money on. ... show more

what i disliked is the leg lifter i thought it was going to be a band to help lift your leg instead it' a pice of metal and it hurts your hand when you use it
