The shade looks well made & works beautifully on my antique floor lamp. Looks lovely. Fortunately, when FedX threw it down on the end of my driveway after literally over 20 DAYS of rain, it missed the huge mud puddle & the box was only mildly damaged. Another 3 inches & it would have been ruined.

In case you aren't familiar with the terminology of lampshades (as I was not), this shade is designed for lamps where the lightbulb hangs down from the socket. If you try to use it with a lamp where the lightbulb sticks up, it will stick up above the top of the shade. I think this could have been more clearly shown with an example or something other than just the word Downbrige, which I thought was some kind of brand or model name. ... show more

The lampshade itself is good looking and well made. My issue is with the threaded UNO attachment fittings. The quality of these, on BOTH lampshades, was horrible. There were burrs on the threads inhibiting them from being screwed onto the lamps without damaging the threads on the lamps themselves. I seriously considered returning the shades. Instead I ended up ordering a pair of fittings from another company to replace the ones with burrs. The replacement fittings were perfect, not a burr in sight, but to install them I could risk damaging the shades, since they would have to be cut out of the support system. What I ended up doing was taking a Dremel tool and grinding out all the threads on both shade fittings so they would slide on like a washer over a bolt, then using the good UNO threaded pieces as a lock-nut. Honestly, when these two floor lamps need replacement shades again, I'm tossing them. ... show more

These shades are on the pricey side bc of the unique threaded hardware. I looked all over to find some that weren’t too much money. They look good and fit those old fashioned cottage style lamps.

I'm going to give this more stars than the others because it's the only white, downbridge lampshad of its size that gives me the look I desire. It's very nice for the price and has the simple clean lines I wanted. As another reviewer noted, the threads have burrs. I found an easy fix. 10 minutes with a tiny wire wheel on my dremel cleaned them up, and I wiped the debris out with a damp paper towel. I found worse issues on the very expensive socket I purchase with an antique bronze finish. The finish was paint I had to clean out of the threads. That took much longer. So...if you clean these up and still have a problem, check the threads on your socket. I don't mind spending 10 minutes on a bargain product. I minded the extremely long time it took to clean up the corresponding threads on the expensive antique reproduction socket. ... show more
