12x24 oval - I live S of Houston Tx ---- I installed it myself - it would work fine for about 15mins and the breaker would keep tripping and wire/breaker would get super hot ---- followed instructions and there was only 1 video on youtube with the same model with very poor instructions/explanations....... my pool pump is about 30 ft from breaker box -- after about $200 in materials it was very annoying.... I was about to return it and get a different one -- Fortunately I called an electrician friend, and he helped me -(i'm sure a company would have been very expensive) ... This is what i used and is working perfectly -- Cable= 4awg (about $2/ft at HoDep) x2... Cable=gauge 6 copper-ground (about $1.2/ft)--- 100amp breaker ($ i already had one) (Gfci recommended- i did NOT installed) .... is heating up very good -- started at 73 and it took it to 83 in about 24hrs and at 90 in 12more.... based on the prices of other water heaters and counting the price of the materials i used (excluding my first $200) - i think is still a good deal. I hope this information helps you make a decision. UPDATE: -Bought and installed Oct2024-- it worked fine --- i closed my pool and re-opened in April2025 == heater worked fine for about a week and it quit heating -- no error codes --- checked wires and all equipment and everything looks good. i'm still troubleshooting - hopefully manufacturer reaches out.
