Description

All of the standard apps that support CarPlay are available. For navigation, you can choose from apps like Apple Maps, Google Maps, Gaia GPS, and REVER, among others. You can pair it to your helmet communicator, then listen to music through your favorite app, make phone calls, or listen to and dictate text messages. Android Auto and CarPlay can be used wirelessly, so you just pair the devices and then keep the smartphone in the pocket or the backpack. The interface should load automatically, and you can then interact with Android Auto and CarPlay using touch and voice. You can use a headset to talk on the phone and listen to voice guidance in Google Maps by connecting via Bluetooth to the device. As anyone can guess, the biggest challenge for such a device is to withstand the changing weather conditions. GTRUI MT686 sports an IPX 8 rating, which means it should withstand dust and a water splash, though you're not supposed to submerge it into water. The 6.86-inch LCD screen has a resolution of 1280x480 pixels and features a maximum brightness level of 1,000 nits. In theory, you should be able to see what's on the screen even in direct sunlight.

  • Awesome stereo and navigation system!
This is a very great value for a motorcycle. My son has one that he uses when he is home from school and this was the perfect option for it. It was easy to install and use; the instructions are clear and the screen size and quality is perfect and not too distracting. It functions well as a touch screen and the connectivity is consistent. For the price you are receiving a well made stereo and navigation system that can easily cost up into the hundreds. This is a great starter model for a bike you don't ride much that spares none of the quality or performance. ... show more

  • 2nd one is great so far.
I ordered this to be able to keep my phone in my pockets, and not on my handlebars. This seems to work pretty well. Having said that, the first one I received kept disconnecting randomly, then consistently. I asked for a replacement, and Amazon shipped a new one back quickly. The 2nd one works great. I am kind of bummed about the volume range when connected to bluetooth, the volume is quite low on comparison to just connecting to my phone, my phone give about double the volume. Overall though, works well, bright in sunlight, very stable. 4stars because of initial Q.C. ... show more

  • Great
This wireless screen works great and adds modern tech to my full analog bike. I no longer have to worry about my phone being exposed to the elements or vibration. The display is bright and easy to read even in direct sunlight. Pairing both my phone and my helmet communicator was seamless and I have had no connectivity issues. I totally recommend this for anyone looking to upgrade their ride. ... show more

  • Terrible
Terrible. It connected but it would make selections on its own. Like it would call people while i would be listening to music like a ghost was operating it. Threw it in the trash

  • Great option if your bike dont have a screen.
This thing is a very nice addition to my motorcycle. It is bright enough to see on a sunny day and the screen is just big enough to easy to use while on the road. It function smoothly and connects to the phone quickly and reliably.

  • Works but needs an on/off switch.
Here is a straight forward pros and cons for this device. Pros: - Big screen, easy to see, touch screen is responsive. - Easy enough to install if you have standard knowledge of your bike and battery hook up. - Easy to connect Carplay or Android Auto via Bluetooth. - Once connected, it's like every other Carplay interface and is straight forward on how to use it. Cons: - Once connected, this device will remain on. This means your battery will drain if you keep this connected. - No on/off switch to prevent battery drain when not in use. - Should be easier to remove for portability, but I suppose maybe it's harder to steal? - Built in interface is blah. Nothing special or useful really. Not sure what everyone else is using this for, but it really does shine when you use the Carplay function. This allows you to use your own choice of GPS (Waze, Google, whatever your preference). Big enough buttons on the screen for easy interface. Don't bother connecting any headsets or other apps to this and just stick to the phone interface. My biggest issue is that it remains powered on even when you store, park, or leave your bike for a period of time. ... show more
