Ladies, don’t hesitate to use this kit! I’ve only used 2 pieces from this kit so far, and they did the job well without breaking, and I did put a lot of pressure on them, to remove an idler arm and pitman arm on my 4wd Navigator. Definitely beats the $1,800 I was quoted to replace the arms. Lots of videos on You Tube to show you how. Great quality kit for the price, worked as intended and held up to a tough job that the harbor freight garbage broke from first use. Nice case and good quality if your not using it extensely everyday , but would even make a great entry mechanic suspension puller kit. Happy with the purchase.

I needed to replace upper and lower ball joints on my 03 envoy 4x4 and the actual ball joint remover press wasn't working well so I figured we'd give this set a try. The claw worked like a charm and made removing the upper ball joint so easy! We were both impressed with. It was way smaller compared to the press so made gettingnit where it needed to be so much simpler. We didn't even attempt to use the press on the other side once we knew how easy this set made it for us. I recommend for the once in a while car owner who works on their own stuff, but don't feel that it would hold up for an everyday mechanic that would need to use it many times a week. My Toyota prius had the original tie rods and to make matters worse, was from 2006! This meant that the tie rods, after finally giving out in the 150k miles of life, would also not budge on removal. I tried hammers, heat, just about everything with no avail. Then this kit had the exact ball joint compressor function for the job. With my ratchet, I hand tightened the tool and after about 7 full turns at max tightness, the ball joint nearly exploded with a direct down motion from the force applied. It worked!     • Decent set of pullers for the DIY mechanic and reasonably priced

I got this set to try to DIY my own front end rebuild on a '95 Mercedes s500. The ball joints and tie rod ends are notoriously oversized and challenging to remove without the MB tools but I thought I'd give this set a try since it was less trouble than renting tools from Autozone and now I'll have a set for other jobs. My first impressions were that the fit and finish of the castings is kinda rough, but there's enough metal there to be strong enough for most jobs. The jack screws are fine for battery operated drivers and probably up to mild pneumatic ugga-duggas, but I don't know if the threads could take repeated use of heavy-duty drivers without bending threads. Their press action is reliable and smooth. I used these with my Dewalt 20v impact driver and had no difficulty getting the corroded tie rods out. The boots on these and my ball joints were already torn so I didn't exercise a lot of care to ensure the clamps wouldn't damage them but the jaws appear to be thin enough at the tips to slide under most boots so you should be ok. These are definitely "occasional use" tools, not for professionals, but they've certainly worked for me. The plastic case the tools come in is just adequate to the task of keeping the together and organized; there's no extravagance in it but it'll last a while if not tossed about in a truck bed. They're presently priced a bit better than when I got my set so I'd say if you can pick these up for around $40, you'd be getting a good value from them. ... show more
