First thing to be clear about is what an aluminum rotary pump is for, and that is diesel, kerosene and oil, not gasoline, because the seals are not rated for it and hand cranking a gas drum is exactly the kind of static situation you do not want in a closed shop. For what it is meant to move, it works: off a 55 gallon drum of diesel it puts out close to a gallon every eight or nine turns of the crank, so filling the tractor and the jugs for the boat is a couple of minutes instead of wrestling a barrel onto a stand. Material quality is the reason I would buy it again, since the body and rotor are real cast aluminum with metal vanes instead of the plastic-geared units that strip the first time a cold winter drum makes them work. Fit and finish is good where it matters, the 2 inch bung threads started square and pulled up tight without cross-threading, and the telescoping suction tube adjusts down for a 15 gallon drum and still reaches the bottom of a full size 55. Ease of use is honest hand-crank simple, though the crank arm wants a solid grip when the drum is full and the fluid is cold, and the discharge spout has not dripped down the side of the drum after shutting off. Durability looks like it will outlast me if I keep water out of it, and the value is easy math against buying fuel in five gallon jugs all season.

This is a well-made pump. The all-aluminum hand crank feels sturdy and has shown no signs of wear despite frequent use. The pump fits snugly onto both 5-gallon and 55-gallon steel drums, making it versatile for different containers in my workshop. After frequent use, the handle mechanism becomes noticeably smoother, almost as if it self-lubricates with use, making each rotation easier over time. ✅PRO: The pump offers solid build quality and moves fluids quickly without any leakage. It's very easy to install, and the rotary action is smooth even after repeated use. ❌CON: The pump is not lightweight, so moving it from drum to drum can be a bit cumbersome, especially if you need to use it in different locations. This pump is a durable, functional, and well-built solution for transferring oil or fuel. It has made my work much more efficient, and I appreciate knowing I can depend on it for regular use.

I picked this up to transfer diesel out of drums, fuel caddies, and large cans into my standby generator's tanks, both the primary and the auxiliary. It's handled that job without complaint. The rotary crank action is smooth and consistent, and it moves a good amount of fuel per revolution without any hard spots or binding. The all-aluminum construction feels solid rather than flimsy, and it seats well on the drums I've used it with. No leaks, no drips at the fittings, and nothing about it feels cheap. This manual rotary pump was acquired for transferring fluids like diesel and lubricating oils from large 55-gallon drums. It is intended for use in a workshop environment where mechanical fluid transfer is required. The all aluminum build feels heavy duty. It easily handled the fluid without feeling like the internal components are straining or binding. The rotary crank handle turns very easily. It pulls a nice strong vacuum and moves a high volume of liquid with every single rotation, saving a considerable amount of time and physical effort. Setting the unit up takes only a few minutes, and it fits securely into the standard bung openings on my storage containers. FYI I replaced the Flexible hose with a longer clear hose. To me the one that it comes with was to short and would not last long in the weather. This is a reliable, heavy-duty manual pump for petroleum-based fluid transfer. It is well-constructed for industrial or home shop use, provided the user stays within the recommended fluid types.
