The media could not be loaded. This transfer pump is definitely for light-duty liquid transfers. The listing mentions SOY SAUCE... ok, we will go with that. I had purchased this to transfer diesel from 55-gallon drums to my farm equipment, as needed. However, upon testing it, I think it will not work well for this application. The tubing is very thin as are the plastic barrel cover and bottom filter. It does create good suction, even dry. There is a lot of lubricant in the main pump housing. Given the amount of lube in the pump housing, I would not use this to transfer gas or diesel and risk the lube getting into your tank. It could cause a lot of expensive damage or work. The provided straw hose does not fit snuggly on the pump and tape or a clamp will be needed, or replace it with another hose - probably one that goes further and has a nozzle to prevent dripping. Overall, a good lightweight pump with plenty of suction power, which would work well for water or other liquids, but I am not using it for my intended purpose of diesel transfer due to the possibility of contamination from the excess lube into my expensive farm equipment.     • Screwed right onto my 50 gallon oil drum, pump is pre-primed with grease and ready to go.
Beloved, I got this to prepare for the coming struggle. No electricity needed for this, and easy enough for a child to crank. I'll be using it for transferring waste oil out of barrels. I think it's going to work great. It comes with a flexible plastic silly-straw type output hose which you can put on the metal output. This makes it easy to guide the output down to a smaller oil/fuel can, but be careful that you don't allow a siphon effect to go unattended. There were 3 sections of screw on aluminum tubing that reached all the way to the bottom of the barrel, with a plastic foot to keep it from sucking against the bottom. The red plastic sleeve adapter locked the pump in place. You'll probably want to grease the inside of the wooden handle, it has an annoying squeak. Overall I think it's a great buy, and you could probably service the insides if you needed to, unlike some small motorized pump. You could also adapt this to a drill drive, with just a little effort. ... show more

Nice and simple. Everything worked as it should. I did like the thought put into it with the expandable hose. Needed a 10mm wrench to put on the handle and it was ready to go. I did like the extra strainer on the bottom of the pipe and the pipe itself went together smoothly and tightly. Very impressed. Also it primed itself!! ... show more

We have been using this to dispense bulk 15W-40 oil out of a 55 gallon drum. I appreciate the lack of brittle plastic parts. The pump works quickly to fill one gallon container the crew will then use to top off the vehicles in our fleet. It has been getting a significant amount of use without issue.
