Does it work? Yes. Is it pleasant/easy to use? No. This hand pump is almost entirely made out of nylon plastic, including the pump housing. The sealing surfaces in the pump appear to be directly metal on plastic. So you feel them grinding together during use. Every thread is a fine pitch into plastic, so you have to be extremely careful not to cross-thread. On the other hand, everything is quite stout. I never felt worried that I was about to break something during use. I firmly rate this as a hobbyist grade hand pump. Buy it if you use it only once every few months and want to save a few dollars, otherwise buy a fully metal pump head. If you are buying this for someone else to use on a daily basis (looking at you, corporate middle management), then that is an unforgivable offense.

The media could not be loaded. This is a very capable manual pump for water-based fluids and chemicals. It feels significantly more durable than the cheap, all-plastic units you usually see, but it does have a few quirks to be aware of during assembly. Build Quality: The main body of the pump feels impressively solid—it has the weight and texture of something like a high-quality glass-filled nylon rather than cheap plastic. The supply tubes share this same rugged material and feel. The outlet tube and spout are a bit more "mediocre" in terms of plastic quality, but they get the job done. Assembly & Setup (Use Caution): My biggest complaint is the threading on the supply tubes. The threads are extremely fine, which makes it quite easy to cross-thread them if you aren't careful. Take your time during assembly to make sure everything is perfectly aligned before tightening (they supply some nylon tape for the threads). Also, a tip for first-time users: make sure the supply tubes are threaded securely into the barrel’s bung hole. If the pump isn't anchored to the barrel, the whole unit will wobble and move around while you're spinning the handle, which is a major source of frustration. Performance & Limitations: I’ve tested this with water so far, and it works exactly as expected. Crucially, do not use this for gasoline. I missed that in the description initially, but the manufacturer is clear about it. It’s perfect for urea, AdBlue, or water-based liquids, but no gasoline. :( Final Verdict: It's a heavy-duty, corrosion-resistant pump that should last a long time if handled correctly. Just be patient with the fine threads and make sure it’s locked to the barrel before you start pumping.

I was impressed with the build quality of this thing. The impeller housing seems to be made of some kind of reinforced polymer, and the tubing is made of polypropylene it seems. All of these should be fairly robust against UV rays, but I'll be trying to shelter it as well as I can (I'll be using it as an emergency water supply in the corner of my lot, where it will be used with a 55 gallon plastic water barrel). I did notice the cranking mechanism is somewhat stiff, but it makes sense that the tolerances should be tight in order to generate the requisite pressure and lift to pump the water. It's slower than the fancy cordless transfer sticks that are out there, but when the power is out and there is a fire in the neighborhood, I'll be able to fill a dozen or so buckets using this, no problem. I like that it is blue, given my intended use.

I live in Florida, and after hurricane Ian I upgraded my emergency supplies. A simple thing like water can really stress you out if you don't have enough of it and can't go get it. So I picked up a food-grade barrel and this pump. I won't fill it till an emergency is pending. But I did put the pump in a deep bucket and try it out. It pumped almost immediately and moved quite a bit of water for the effort required. Good old crank action, no power to worry about. Note that my needs are for pure water. Be sure to buy the correct pump if you need to pump diesel or other liquids.

I was honestly surprised at how fast and easy this pump was to put together. It only took a few minutes from the box to working. I tested it in the bathtub just to see how it would perform and wow it started pumping in about four turns. Smooth operation strong flow and no struggling at all. It feels solid and well built and does exactly what it is supposed to do. Simple effective and very efficient. This is an excellent pump and well worth the money.

Purpose for Product: We have 30-gallon plastic drums for storing water during hurricane season. The drums are very heavy when filled and in the upright position. The the only way to access the water is by pumping. Product Inspection: The pump itself and piping are made of a heavy plastic. Assembly is straight forward. Pump handle is installed with a set screw. Instructions are included. Pump has very limited fluid applications, but seller discloses them. Product Performance: Pump does pump water at a rate of about 5 gallons per minute- reasonable priming. The pump handle connection is an engineering failure. I drilled it and installed a much larger bolting system with washers for reinforcement and will still treat if with TLC. A metal handle and pump arm would go a long way to fix this problem. Summary: When the winter and hurricane winds make water supply uncertain - this pump will add some backup for our emergency water supply. Pump is not perfect and is overpriced but it works for my application and the plastic seems adequately durable.
