A little difficult to setup and take down. I don’t always need it up. I like the base that holds it up while adjusting the sides. It is tall enough where my cats don’t try to jump it; well, as long as it isn’t placed near something they can jump from. I’ve purchased two of the gates. The only thing I would change is either offer extension pieces or make it 48” wide. Otherwise , a solid gate.

This extra tall cat gate is exactly what I needed to keep (most) of my cats out of my home office. With the pet door it makes it easy to choose who I allow in or not. The height of this gate will prevent even my most athletic of cats from jumping over. The white enameling seems well applied and this should last for many years. I like that the door swings in either direction. Of note, learn from my mistakes. First, I cut off all of the plastic cable ties even though it said not to. My husband had to duct tape the bars tighter to fix this error on my part. Do not cut them all off! The next mistake I made was not pre-measuring my door and I should have ordered the B option which had the right extension that I needed. I made this one work but it sits right up against my door knob, making for a snug fit. We did not fully read the instructions as my husband has put these together in the past and thought they were all the same. This one is a little different than others out there. The directions, when we did finally look at them, were a bit confusing and not very clear however. Between the directions and looking at photos in the description we were able to figure it out. This took longer than it should have but that was our own fault. I can’t deduct stars for my own negligence but I did take off a star because I really don’t like the door latch. I find it difficult to open-it sticks- and close-it has to be matched up perfectly to latch. There are two long rods included that fit on the screws on either end. They prevent a gap for your pets to squeeze through. This is a good idea but I find that since my tension screws are out as far as they can go that these bars are loose and can move freely along the screws.

The media could not be loaded. I live downstairs in a house with my 2 cats, my family is upstairs with 5 large dogs. This gate has kept my kitties safe everyday and I can't do it without the gate. It was beyond easy to install and very sturdy and tall and worth every penny!

I was specifically looking for something to keep my 2 new kittens separated until they adjusted to their new home. I needed something that had little space between bars so I thought this would work because it said the spacing was 1.37",it also said it was perfect for kittens. Well some of the bars are 1.37" apart, but some are wider, ans these are not baby kittens. They are 4 abd 5 months old and they can still squeeze through the wider spaced bars. So, big disappointment, and now I have to drag this thing to the post office, ugh!

This gate by Jiprlak was the only one I could find that met my height and width requirements (6 feet by 42 inches). The product is very sturdy and the door opens and closes with ease. The locking mechanism was easier to use than expected which makes it easy to come and go with ease. I am very pleased with the pressure mount as this install is for temporary purposes so no need to repair the wall when finished. If you are looking for a good quality gate I highly recommend it.

There is a single doorway that connects our front room to the dining room. Sometimes when we are going in and out the front door or talking to someone who is on the porch, the cats are lurking about and it is very stressful thinking that one may dart out. We originally installed the average height baby gate to separate the cats from the front door access which worked for a while, until the youngest finally figured out that she could jump it. I was very excited to see this tall gate by Jiprlak available through the Vine Voices review program. It took my engineer partner a bit longer to put this together than he originally expected. He said that the instructions needed to be a bit more clearer, and that someone who isn't experienced with putting things together may require more time to complete this. When he deciphered what he needed, the gate was able to be installed and he did not seem to struggle doing that. The plastic base piece that the gate rests in is a brilliant feature! As a bonus for me, this helps to keep cat toys from rolling under the gate. The sliding pet door requires two hands to operate and is easy to move up and down. There are several locking points that the door can stop on to allow only small pets through. We did not need to use it, but this gate system does come with an additional extension section for wider doorways. The mechanism that opens the gate works well and the door can open wide in either direction. We do not have any issues with the gate feeling flimsy. He was able to get the gate to secure tightly to the door frame. I feel that this gate is worth the price, especially with the piece of mind it gives you.
