I ordered the Osmo "Selfie Stick Tripod" because I needed a convenient mobile tripod platform for my phone to shoot videos. With some extra adapters this tripod looks like it will be capable of that mission. It did not include a phone compatible bracket that I had to find elsewhere. It extends out to a maximum of 53 1/2 inches in length. The selfie stick itself feels delicate, and the telescopic nature of extending and compressing it back feels like you are at the edge of it's tolerance to do so without damaging it. Similarly, the folding tripod legs also feel like it's a waiting to break apparatus. I definitely have concerns regarding it's long term durability. That being said, I'm a fairly careful guy and will be giving it a go and intend to loop back to this review after a few months with a field report on how it survives in the real world. The biggest problem this selfie stick has going against it is it's price. At $32.90 (as of the writing of this review) there are direct competing products here on Amazon that cost less than a third of the price of this unit. Normally you expect an expensive product to make up for the price with overwhelming quality. For me, this product failed to actually deliver on that expectation.

This extendable selfie stick arrived looking like a compact metal tube that might contain expensive vitamins or emergency flares. When fully collapsed, it resembles something you might use to test the depth of a puddle or poke at suspicious objects from a safe distance. The first time I extended it to its full 53.5 inches, I experienced a moment of genuine disbelief. The transformation from compact cylinder to full-length tripod felt like witnessing amateur magic performed by someone who accidentally got the trick right. The mechanism operates smoothly without the grinding or sticking that usually accompanies telescoping equipment. Each section locks securely in place, creating a surprisingly sturdy platform that feels far more substantial than its lightweight construction suggests. I have used this stick with my GoPro, DJI Action camera, and even my regular smartphone with consistently excellent results. The universal mounting system accommodates different devices without requiring specialized adapters or engineering degrees.
