Features

  • Ample Power: Continuous 500W, peak 1000W, inverter 12 V to 110 V that'll charge your devices in no time, 1 cigarette lighter adapter and a pair of battery clamps. Ideal for camping lights, tablets, routers, laptops & other gadgets
  • Use it fast on the go: Just plug it into your car lighter to charge devices under 150W. Or get 500W power by connecting the power inverter to car battery. If power demand exceeds 150W, please connect inverter to 12V battery directly. Car cigarette lighter sockets typically only output 150W
  • Comprehensive Safety: The car inverter's got a built-in safety system to keep you safe. It watches out for overloads, short circuits, voltage and temperature swings and even if someone decides to hook it up in reverse - it'll cut off power to prevent damage
  • Power Your Journey: This inverter has 2 AC outlets and a 5V USB port. AC outlets will charge up your biggest kit - like laptops and camping lights - while USB will sort out your phone, tablet and kindle. Great for road trips, business trip, or emergency power needs
  • Compact Design: Not much bigger than a cellphone (6.7*3.5*2 in), this power inverter for vehicles is easy to put in glove box or travel bag - ready to work anywhere - be it on a road trip, camping, or just in case for when the power goes out

MY REVIEW: 500W Power Inverter What I love: The dual-input setup is the real selling point here. Using the 12V plug is fine for a laptop or a small battery charger while you’re moving, but the alligator clamps are what make this a tool rather than a toy. Clipping directly to the battery allows you to pull the full 500W for small power tools or work lights without risking your vehicle’s internal wiring. The aluminum housing is solid enough to survive being tossed into a crowded trunk or a job site bin. What I don’t like: There is a disconnect between the 500W sticker and what the cigarette lighter can actually handle; try to pull too much from the dash and you’ll be hunting for a spare fuse. The cooling fan is also an issue; it kicks in immediately and has a high-pitched drone that can get under your skin if you're sitting in the cab for a long stretch. Great buy. UNBIASED - Amazon Vine reviewers are not paid for reviews, be it positive or negative. I will never recommend a product I would not buy myself. I treat ALL vendors with respect and fairness but my duty is to You, the in my reviews. If it is junk or treasure my reviews will reflect the products, I give my word of honor. I don’t want any reviews of mine to read like an ad but anyone who has written reviews knows, it is hard to not get sucked into writing in that style, if it is a great product and most are, then we are so enthused about the products and want to scream it to everyone, “Hey, this is a great product”. So in my view, that is why some reviews may sound like ads. I want to say, I encourage you as an interested customer, to ask me questions about the product and I will do my very best to answer each and every one of you. Amazon reviewers can write our views anyway we feel about any product; all we wish to do is help. A reviewer on a social platform often states, “He does not trust Amazon Reviews”. The gentleman is a great reviewer and makes very high quality content, however in this case I disagree strongly. Amazon reviews are dependable and useful. However, use common sense the lower the number of reviews the less accurate the score is. Products that are “Amazon Choice” have always been a winning selection for me. The Amazon review scoring system, lets you know what customers and reviewers like and dislike about the product you are considering purchasing. I cannot state this enough but Amazon Vine reviewers have no reason or encouragement to favor or disfavor any product. Reviews are not edited by Amazon, unless they violate community policy, for example profanity etc., Amazon does not edit reviewers. The comment about Amazon reviews being questionable is somewhat debatable. I assume the comment made by the non-Amazon reviewer is referring to Amazon Vine reviews. I can’t speak for no one but myself, but if the day would ever come that I thought I was obligated to writing ads, I would move on. Amazon knows the value of customer satisfaction and wants to weed out any products that do not live up to advertising claims. Again if you have a question, please let me help. ... show more

  • Ran a 484 watt old style heater at 123 volts. 500 watt inverter with 1000 watt surge capability.
Size: 500W Color: Black
This is a 500 watt inverter that has connectors for a battery and also for a 12 volt cigarette style socket in a vehicle or power station. The maximum surge voltage is 1000. If one needs to power a device that uses more than 150 watts, one must use the direct-to-battery cables since a vehicle outlet will blow its fuse above 150 or so. This listing actually advises purchasers of that fact so that is great. Many suppliers do not warn of the issue. The inverter has built-in safety features including overload, short circuit, voltage and temperature swings, and reversed hookup. It will shut off if any of those happen. There are two 120 volt outlets and one usb A port. I think it should have a usb C also since that is the current trend in usb power supply. One can purchase a usb A to usb C adapter which will then provide both usb A and C, but not at the same time. I do like the looks of this inverter. However it is a modified sine wave inverter. So not all electrical devices can safely run from its outlets. I tested the inverter by attaching it to a 12.8 volt lithium battery. Note when it is turned on, green led lights illuminate. I then plugged in a heater that uses resistance wiring so there would not be a surge. I know this heater stays just below 500 watts based on prior testing using a watt meter. It typically reaches 484 watts. The inverter ran this heater just fine. If set to its lower heat level which uses 244 watts, I could hear the inverter's fan changing its speed as it determined what speed was needed. When using the 484 watt setting, the fan was fully on. Note it is probable that any typical PTC heater will not run on this inverter if it is anywhere near 500 watts. I tested 3 different ones. They all surged near or above 1000 watts and triggered the inverter's protection after about 10 seconds. So old style heaters work if below 500 watts, incandescant lights will work, but be cautious with electronic devices since this is not a sine wave inverter. Also be cautious when attaching the cables to the inverter. Those fan slots are perfect to allow one of the washers to slide in! That happened as I was holding the inverter vertically. I then had to take the inverter apart to get it out to ensure no short circuiting would occur. Note that the cables seemed light duty. I also tested the usb A port. It did start charging my Galaxy S21+ phone in standard mode. It was not able to use fast, or superfast charging. ... show more
