The PLUSCENT 1500 Sq.ft Dehumidifier for Basement with Drain Hose is a nifty little machine. Small and compact, the size is perfect for my basement. Very quiet as it operates and a very efficient humidity remover. I opted to use the container instead of the hose, since my drain in my basement is quite a distance away from the plug outlet where my dehumidifier is located, so I check the container and empty it daily. It’s a new construction house, so I have more moisture in the cement floor than usual, but this little guy is a workhorse and keeps my basement dry! This dehumidifier works exactly as advertised. I selected it largely because it claimed to be quiet. It's not silent, but it sure is a lot quieter than the one it replaced. I can even leave it on at night and it doesn't disturb my sleep. The user interface is easy to figure out and set and I like that its lit so I can see at a glance what the humidity is. It seems to keep the house right at the setting, too--my heat-pump system also measures humidity and the two almost always match or are within a point or two (they're at opposite ends of the 1625 sq. ft. house). The water collection component is smaller than my previous dehumidifier, as some other reviews noted. However, I use the provided hose directly to a drain so that is not a problem for me. I was happy that it came with the hose and that its cord was a reasonable length. As for energy efficiency, it is highly rated and I believe it because, although it runs pretty continually as did my previous one, my electricity bill has been lower this summer (the weather has actually been hotter yet wetter than last summer, too). Based on my several months of experience thus far, I would recommend this product. ... show more

I am genuinely impressed with this 1,500 Sq. Ft dehumidifier. It worked great from the very first day! It pulled the moisture out quickly, got rid of the moldy smell, and completely eliminated the foul scent that was lingering in the space. The smart humidity control is spot-on, the operation is super quiet, and having the drain hose makes it so easy to maintain. My basement feels fresh, dry, and comfortable again. Definitely worth every penny! The amount of water it capture was unbelievable. In the video that was my send time emptying the drain and with 1/2hr water was in there again. We needed a dehumidifier for our master bathroom, and the PLUSCENT 52 seemed to fit the bill. It wasn't too big or too small. It made noise, but it wasn't noisy. The design looks modern and pleasing. And it's been working well. I look forward to going into the bathroom - now the most comfortable room in our house - and especially stepping out of our steamy hot shower into a low-humidity room to dry off. I gave it four stars instead of five stars for three reasons: 1.) The water tank is relatively small and fills up quickly. I sometimes have to empty it two or three times a day. 2.) When the water tank is full, a tiny orange light appears on the top of the console and is easy to miss. Meanwhile, there is a huge blue/green light that runs along the top edge of the unit that can be seen across the room. Why not make that turn orange when the tank is full? 3.) If the electricity goes off in your home (as it does often in mine), once it is restored, the unit does not go back to its previous settings. Instead, it uses default settings. It's annoying to reset everything to my liking when all they had to do was capture and restore the current settings. ... show more

Absolutely recommend. Picked up for apartmentvafter mold remediation was done due to water leak. Also live near oceanbso moisture in air always. It fills up every night and is fairly quiet. It does great job and only raised energy bill little bit.
