This dehumidifier works exactly as advertised. I selected it largely because it claimed to be quiet. It's not silent, but it sure is a lot quieter than the one it replaced. I can even leave it on at night and it doesn't disturb my sleep. The user interface is easy to figure out and set and I like that its lit so I can see at a glance what the humidity is. It seems to keep the house right at the setting, too--my heat-pump system also measures humidity and the two almost always match or are within a point or two (they're at opposite ends of the 1625 sq. ft. house). The water collection component is smaller than my previous dehumidifier, as some other reviews noted. However, I use the provided hose directly to a drain so that is not a problem for me. I was happy that it came with the hose and that its cord was a reasonable length. As for energy efficiency, it is highly rated and I believe it because, although it runs pretty continually as did my previous one, my electricity bill has been lower this summer (the weather has actually been hotter yet wetter than last summer, too). Based on my several months of experience thus far, I would recommend this product. ... show more

Have been using this dehumidifier for a couple weeks now and absolutely love it!. It is much quieter than my older Frigidaire while also being much smaller as shown in photos. My Frigidaire always reads higher humidity levels than my actual monitors that I have around my home, meanwhile this Pluscent model was actually very accurate. This Dehumidifier was reading nearly identical to every other sensor I had which is a huge plus for me because I dont need to adjust for fluctuations. This Dehumidifier also allows to store the cable inside the machine which super convenient when I dont need it during the winter since the heat dries everything. This feels like a quality item and am very happy. Its perfect for my living room as its small and quiet enough to not be a nuisance. Quiet, efficient, looks nice, compact, and some great features like Laundry mode!     • So Far, So Good
We needed a dehumidifier for our master bathroom, and the PLUSCENT 52 seemed to fit the bill. It wasn't too big or too small. It made noise, but it wasn't noisy. The design looks modern and pleasing. And it's been working well. I look forward to going into the bathroom - now the most comfortable room in our house - and especially stepping out of our steamy hot shower into a low-humidity room to dry off. I gave it four stars instead of five stars for three reasons: 1.) The water tank is relatively small and fills up quickly. I sometimes have to empty it two or three times a day. 2.) When the water tank is full, a tiny orange light appears on the top of the console and is easy to miss. Meanwhile, there is a huge blue/green light that runs along the top edge of the unit that can be seen across the room. Why not make that turn orange when the tank is full? 3.) If the electricity goes off in your home (as it does often in mine), once it is restored, the unit does not go back to its previous settings. Instead, it uses default settings. It's annoying to reset everything to my liking when all they had to do was capture and restore the current settings. ... show more

    • Does a Great Job
This jewel has done a miraculous job of keeping our downstairs moisture free. I run the drain tube to the “pump room” and let it run. I set it on 40 and it turns off and on when needed. We haven’t had a moments trouble with it. Before we got it the walls and floors would be damp even though we had a bigger unit down there. This little jewel does the trick! It’s easily taken care of. I will say the reservoir is a tad small but if you use the free drain on it you’ll have no issues. Some folks say it’s loud, I don’t think it is but that would have to be a personal determination. We purchased the Pluscent dehumidifier several weeks ago and waited to post a review to make sure we liked it. It is a compact unit that is easy to operate and set up. We are using the hose to empty into our drain, and it works great. The water reservoir is fairly small but works fine when using a drain--which was perfect for our setup.     • Quiet, keeps 2500 Sq Ft 2 story home to 53 and done not freeze over.
This is 2 weeks old and works great, it is quiet and in my basement, 2500sqft, this is a superior wall basement. I set it at 55 and it keeps it around 53, 50 on 1st level. My older unit would run all the time, freeze and humidity was at 60, it would never go lower and noisy. I use the hose to a drain in my basement. ... show more
