Awesome little tank that looks great too, exactly what I was looking for but couldn't seem to find. Could be considered a bit small for a betta, but with routine maintenance and good care they will be fine in it. Despite what other reviewers have said, I actually like the filter. It's just an $8 water pump connected to a plastic housing that's filled with a sponge, but you can stuff it with whatever kind of filter media you want. And if the pump dies, it's inexpensive to replace with one of the million exact knockoffs on Amazon. The only thing I didn't like about it was the "feed hole" which is just a gap where one of the glass walls is shorter than the rest. Not really my style so I cut a piece of acrylic to silicone over the gap. ... show more

So many say small isn't good for Betta BUT they are used to small spaces in the wild and this 2 gal is plenty of room if you plant it and give plenty of leaves and things to swim around as they have in the wild. This is a cool glass tank, the reason I bought it. I am not using top or filter, planted doesn't need filter and top is better served with open lighting. All that said, for a single Betta with a snail and maybe some Otocinclus catfish, this is perfect!! Walstad planted method and you will be WAY happier as will the aqua life!! Trust me when I say to skip this size! Goes straight to the 5 gallon. The filter on this one is not strong enough to keep anything out of the water, every other day. There is algae growing on the sides of the tank even after thorough cleaning. It is also too small for a plant and beta both.

This tank has mirrored sides, which stress Beta fish. Betas are extremely smart fish but a mirror is not recommended for more then five minutes a day. This tank literally puts the fish in fight or flight mode the entire time. HOW IRRESPONSIBLE AND CRUEL.

I’m giving this tank two stars because the tank itself is really pretty and I love the color however after letting my tank sit for 48hrs and adding my betta. He immediately got his fins sucked into the filter at the bottom. The filter shouldn’t be an open grated area. Betta’s fin will get sucked into.
