  • easy to use
Bought this to dig fence posts, and it did not disappoint, as long as you don't force it. Very light, fit on my drill, and I was able to get the posts in by myself. Highly recommend.

  • This is a good auger, which is pretty large, but you need to be careful with it.
The media could not be loaded. I have used augers around my house for digging out holes to plant things. I generally use electric hand drills. I saw this and asked Amazon to review it. CAUTION. Before I give you my conclusions you need to know the following: 1. This is a very large auger for a normal electric hand drill. 2. You need to set the torque down on your drill. If you don’t, if you hit a root the auger may stop but your drill will start rotating quickly. It can be dangerous. You can break your hand. 3. Don’t let small children use this. It could be very dangerous. 4. Wear eye protection. 5. Try to run your drill at the lowest possible speed that allows you to dig. You don't want to hit a rock at a high speed. This auger is very solid. It has two additional cutting blades in front that help in getting through areas that have small roots. While it will fit my smaller hand drill, it will do a lot better with my much larger hammer drill (without the hammer). It weighs a lot more and you can put two hands on it solidly. I have attached a video using my small battery electric drill. You can see the drill stop. The reason is I was hitting roots and rocks, which caused the torque mechanism to stop the drill. Still it did a very good job. At the end of the video there is a hole I made, but it was in packed down potting soil. I put it there to show you the size of the hole this makes. I really like this auger, but I know I must be careful. ... show more

  • This and a Drill = Save Your Back!
I used this auger bit and a Bosch drill to dig about 3/4 of the depth I needed to plant several evergreen trees. I enlarged the holes slightly with a shovel, but having the ground softened up sure made things easy! This is one of those use it for a project and never use it again things, but it's well worth the cost. It's also made much nicer than expected and held up great! ... show more

  • Perfect for 1st group of seedlings going out side before spring
What a well made and thoughtful gardening tool. This is well made, strong material and the perfect size for planting multiple items all at once as well as digging holes for other purposes. I used my Dewalt driver and even though I did have to bend over a bit, the job of planting 45 flower starts was enjoyable and way less messy. It grabs at the ground with no problem, pressure depends on your soil quality and time of year. We have just thawed out so I could give it a go. Very pleased and would ask that a longer shaft be part of the future designs. The price point is lower that the others and that suits us small gardeners just fine. Highly reccomended ... show more

  • Good enough for my soil.
My current soil is super soft no matter what. This auger has a very nice coating and works well with my cordless drill....but I give my opinion for MY soil. My soil is super soft whether it is wet or dry. I cannot speak to soils that are harder than mine in any condition. I had Georgia Red Clay before, I do not think this would be a great match. I had the dry soil of California before and I do not think that this would be a great match for that, either. However, I do like the coating of the tool and it works well for my current soil conditions. With my current soil, the auger does not bend or get stuck. ... show more

  • Nice
I ordered this to use in my raised garden bed for planting and it looks useful. It's solid but not overly heavy. It should fit on my drill without any issue and drill 4" holes for planting, which is perfect for my needs. The end has a drill bit to get it started and the metal is coated for rust resistance. It also hangs easily in my utility room for storage. I'm looking forward to spring so this will get some use. ... show more

  • High quality 16 inch garden drill bit
I am really excited about this 16 inch garden Drill bit. The quality and sturdiness is immediately felt when taken out of the packaging. It is made out of high quality coated steel. I feel the empowerment in my hands. Sadly, it’s the middle of winter here, but as soon as the weather turns green, I’ll be outside digging more holes than I know what to do with. I feel I can dig down to Antarctica with this drill bit. All kidding aside, my chores will be so much smoother when planning my garden for vegetables, herbs, flowers, evergreens or in assistance to turning over the soil. A handy tool to have for gardeners and I’ll update this review in the spring. ... show more
