I had to pick my unit up myself. The freight company sucked. Very poor customer service. They were difficult to deal with, so I finally gave up and picked it up myself. I was horrified when they brought it out of the warehouse. The crate was damaged so badly that things had fallen out. Thankfully the forklift driver took the time to pick the items up and put them on top of the crate. They asked if I wanted to refuse it. I thought about it and decided to take it anyway. This is a peice of equipment and I expected it was probably fine. My only fear was that parts could be missing. I got it home and started to remove the crate. It pretty much fell apart. The plastic wrap was holding it together, which was a miracle beyond belief. The unit and parts did not suffer much. There were a few scratches. I inventoried everthing that I had. The packet with the screw package for the joystick controls, 4 nuts for the canopy, and the pin for the thumb were was the only thing missing. The only real damage was to the alien brackets. I bent them back into shape and repainted them. Good as almost new. Hydraulic fluid was low, so I had to add about a gallon. Considering the distance this thing traveled, I am surprised it wasn't a total wreck. Thank you Digmaster, it runs and performs as it should so far. ... show more

This is a powerful and versatile machine for work and maintenance on a 12 acre property. Briggs & Stratton Pro engine is very efficient and produces more than enough power to run the machine. Hydraulic pump on the one I received was Parker branded, but I'm not sure based on serial number. It's more than sufficient to do the job either way. Pilot controls make it significantly more comfortable to operate for longer periods, and the foot switch for the hydraulic thumb (a must-have feature in my mind) and/or active implement like a TT Bucket, Auger, or Breaker) is very handy as well. Attachments are good quality at the price point. The unit isn't meant for large jobs, so the implements are scaled accordingly...more than adequate for homeowner use and then some. The attached canopy is metal, not plastic, which was another pleasant surprise, and it's made of fairly thick gauge material as well. It's a nice bit of protection from something other than sunlight, especially if you have trees nearby while working. Most of the zerk fittings are US standardard male type, but the hinge points do have the metric flush-type zerks. The tool kit that comes with the unit includes the adapter for these, so it's not a huge issue, but I'd personally prefer to have standard zerks all around to make greasing a little more straightforward. The excavator does have a hydraulic cooler with electric fan to keep the oil temperatures down, and it does move a good bit of air through the compartment. All things considered, the only drawback is the travel speed, which is pretty slow at about 1.5 MPH (a little over 2 feet per second). It's built more for agility and control than speed, but it would be nice to have a higher range for open areas to minimize travel time. Bottom Line - despite a few very minor shortcomings, it's a very solid mini excavator that has features generally reserved for larger, more expensive units. The engine/pump combo perform above expectations, and the sales & service have been exceptional thus far. I would certainly purchase again given the opportunity! ... show more

Mixed feelings. The machine is perfect for what I want. I'm 70 and use it on my 10 acres. I can't pick up and carry things or use a shovel like I could several years ago. The only issue I have is the delay receiving the extra attachments. It took a couple of chats with Amazon before I received tracking numbers. Amazon was great helping me. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the machine. It's not designed for heavy construction use but perfect for small farm work. ... show more

It was shipped with very little engine oil, hydraulic oil, and gas. Was asked by delivery driver if I could unload it as they didn't know how to operate them. As I was taking it off the trailer it was leaning so far forward that I temporarily lost the hydraulic system. Once I managed to get it on the ground I had some hydraulic operation. The next day I changed the oil, hydraulic oil, greased and looked the machine over. So far I did find 1 missing bolt that should hold in a pin for the front arm. Other than that It now runs great and seems very strong. I believe I will be very pleased with the machine. ... show more
