The iron glides on the hair and doesn’t get caught on the clamp. It’s a super smooth process. It also seems to leave a slight sheen to the hair. Curl Pattern: Don’t expect tight curls. I love this new style of Hot Tools curling iron. It's like a matte black finish and works really well. It's also much cheaper to buy on Amazon than it is at Ulta, which is where I bought my last curling iron. I now have two sizes of this same curling iron and really love them.

This was nice and I almost kept it, but I dropped it on my neck while I was curling. I think it was because I am so used to clip less that I can’t use it. This is my first hair curler (as an adult) so I won't say I am a professional at using one but it sure made it seem easy to use. I love being able to change the temperature at the bottom as my stylist recommended getting one that could do that. I will be gifting one to my daughter in law as well!

I really like this iron, especially for the price. It it sleek, gets up to 430 degrees in heat, and the digital screen is really excellent. It feels way more pricey than I spent to purchase. The only thing to work around is the hinge, sometimes my hair (which is very long) gets caught in the hinge and is harder to release than some of my older curling irons. With practice and change in curling technique though, I don't think this will be an issue. ... show more
