This is a totally accurate and easy to operate little machine. I was very surprised at how easy it was to set up and the iPhone software works just great. It runs Milmage easily and my first prints were a total success! I got this because I thought it might come in handy for a few smaller jobs but its doing such a fine job I find that we are using it a lot! I just bought this machine I wanted to get started and doing small projects. Yes it’s a beginner machine. It promises a lot. I have been able to make a couple things on it. The table is not very big so don’t expect to make anything bigger than a postcard and about an inch thick so far I’m not really happy with the machine nor my disappointed in the machine. I’m sort of half-and-half if somebody asked me if they should buy this, I would probably tell him to save their money and get something a little bit bigger at the end of the day, these machines are almost all the same. Just wanted to give an update I wouldn’t spend the money on this machine I’m seriously considering sending it back I’ve not been able to make anything totally complete and I’m sure the machine is out of tram and not square with it self ... show more

I bought this cnc router for milling PCBs. During the calibration process you need to use a heightmap alignment cable. This cable supposed to make electrical contact with the surface of the PCB and the cnc bit. How this process is described in the manual is wrong (see page 10). The problem is the aluminum clamp is non-conductive. Neither the aluminum platform. Both have a coating. What happened: during this calibration process the bit moved downwards, but as there was no electrical short, the router keep pushing down the bit. I could see the platform and the whole mechanics of the router bending. It was quite a force. I have no clue of this bending did some thing permanent to the construction of the router. Nonetheless: how it it possible this was never tested by their QA people? I suggest Genmitsu changes this manual ASAP. It's scary that such an obvious mistake is present, and now I'm afraid other mistakes exist as well due to poor quality testing. For that reason I give it a 1 star. ... show more

    • Mostly beginner friendly CNC. Basic instructions should come from elsewhere though.
The Genmitsu Cubiko CNC router is a good, versatile, entry-level router. It's not the top of the line by any means, but it's certainly not a piece of junk either. The unit is fairly small, and the work bed is similarly small. This is great for learning how to use a CNC router, learning how to make and work with gcode, and generally learning about these types of units in general. I will take a star off though because it's not super beginner friendly. Setting up the system and getting your first cut will take a bit of research, and that's an area I wish Genmitsu had done a better job. Since this is clearly a product targeted at beginners, initial setup and walkthrough instructions should be much clearer. Unfortunately, due to broken English instructions and generally language-free diagrams, it's not very straight-forward for someone who is new to this hobby. As mentioned by other reviewers, this isn't a particularly heavy duty machine, so I'd aim to cut more soft materials, like wood and acrylics. It can probably cut soft metals too, but I haven't tried to do so yet. The enclosure is definitely a benefit and helps to contain some of the dust, so this can be used in a shop without spewing dust everywhere. It makes clean up quite a bit easier. Overall, I'm very happy with the Cubiko CNC as a beginner, and it's helped me decide whether this is a hobby I enjoy and would like to invest more into in the future. ... show more

    • Cute for hobby projects.
It works as it should and has surprised me with its accuracy. I do wish it was more rigid though. It struggles with depths of cut greater than 0.040” on wood and I have yet to get it to work on copper at all despite trying depths of cut less than 0.003” and feeds of less than 0.0005” per rev.
