Not many people are in the market for a stand alone digital camera nowadays, since there's not much you can do with one that your phone cannot do. That being said, I still appreciate the nostalga of using an actual camera. This is a very affordable option for someone looking for the same experience. This would also make an excellent gift for a kid or teen to have fun with. The screen flips up so it would also serve well for bloggers who would want to "talk to the camera." Overall build quality is above average. Most digital cameras I've owned aren't very tough. Usually all it takes is one drop and it's toast. This one is fairly lightweight and made of high impact ABS plastic. Admittedly, I dropped it from about a 4 foot distance into a ceramic tile floor when I was taking it out of the box. Not a scratch! There are several options in the (easy to navigate) menu to boost creativity in your shots. My daughters and I were having a blast with sketch mode, making everything in the house look like a cartoon. We played around with video mode and even came up with a short film. The picture quality is very good. It didn't look pixelated at all, even when viewed on a 55" flatscreen. I included a still of a leaf on a rock in our front yard that was taken with the camera so you can see how good the quality is. It's easy enough to extract your photos to whatever device you want for viewing / sharing / editing. I simply connected a USB-C cable between the camera and my Samsung Galaxy tablet to transfer over the pictures. It came with a 64g SD card pre-installed, so you're ready to go straight out of the box. As stated earlier, the menu is easy to navigate, especially once you get used to all of the settings. This camera doesn't have a touch screen, though. Not a big deal, but I found myself constantly trying to navigate the settings through the screen. The only negative I will mention is the auto focus seems to take a while. I had several shots that came out blurry, just because the focuser couldn't keep up. Again, in a day and age where we're all used to instant results, this camera helped me to slow down and just appreciate the moment. ... show more

I picked this up as a starter camera, and honestly it has impressed me more than I expected. The design is really sleek and lightweight, so it’s easy to throw in a bag without feeling bulky. The 180° flip screen is probably my favorite part because it makes filming and taking self-shots so much easier, especially if you’re vlogging or just want to see your framing. For the price, the photo and video quality are pretty solid. The images come out clear, the autofocus reacts quickly enough for everyday use, and the 16x zoom is handy when you want to get closer without moving. It’s definitely not going to replace a high-end camera, but for someone starting out, traveling, or learning photography, it gets the job done really well. I also think this makes a great gift. It feels more “premium” than the price suggests, and it’s simple enough for teens or beginners to use without a huge learning curve. I use USB-C Wireless Microphones, they just work with my smart phone, and even Action Cameras. Nothing special to do to make it work either. However, while this unit has a USB-C, it apparently doesn't allow me to connect my wireless microphone receiver to that port. If I was using this as a video camera, the on board audio is NOT going to be good enough for what I need. This is unfortunate, because playing around with it, it is very easy to use, and to figure out HOW to navigate through the settings, I am pretty impressed by it. The size of the screen is good, the autofocusing is good. For still images with an affordable unit? This is great, it has a variety of settings to get the type of shot you want, and it is easy to set up. When I started shooting video a long time ago, we could never dream of video this good, but we always need EXCELLENT AUDIO to complete the package. I am unsure why the manufacturer would leave out the ability to connect a wireless microphone, especially when this camera would be a much superior unit with that option. I love the thing, and it does what it claims it can do... I just require the ability to connect higher quality external microphones. ... show more
