The charger works as it should. An overnight charge got it to fully charged green status. I go this as a backup as I have had chargers fail at the worst times. Note: This unit is not weather proof and has no labeling other than what you see on the face. No electrical specs, no CE, UL or FCC certs and no manual. Only a charger and cord in a box. But it does work.

You know by now that I don't know that much about battery chargers, but I do know a little and that little that I know threw me for a loop on this one. I was always taught to rundown a battery before you charge it to make it last longer. But both kinds of batteries used by golf carts do not recommend this practice. For the lead acid ones, they recommend that you keep them charged all the time but not overcharged. And you have to have a battery that shuts off when the battery is charged. For the other Li-ion battery, you should never use one when it is low on juice. So, I am happy with this battery because it is compatible with what I learned I needed, or what my batteries expect and need from a charger.

As common place with items from China they usually drop the ball when it comes to documentation and poorly written manuals. With this unit, at least for me they skipped the manual all together. And even too lazy to post a PDF version on the internet or within this listing as very commonly done by others. In any case, with no manual and no specs written on the charger itself you have to go by bare minimum which is Green is for Good, Red is for not good, charging. If they insist on not including a manual then make a full spec / feature label to put on the charger at least. Outside of that this is simply a 48 vdc lead acid charger, not lipo4 or Lithium battery charger with a conditional readout display. Just 2 color LED light. And the light is poorly placed at the end of the unit by the power in cord and not on top of the unit where you would normally look. But the unit does the job of charging lead acid batteries even without digital or analog needle charge indicator. For the price they are asking they should improve the battery condition feedback by doing away with the cheap one LED color changing indicator light and add some better indicator features like their competitors do. Looks nice. Longer cord than I thought, 16,' easy to reach power outlet. Charging handle fits well on my Easy Go RXV golf cart. Charging indicator shows fully charged or less than 80%. AC power cord doesn’t push all the way into charger. Would not think it’s a problem but I thought it broke while I was testing it. While charging the AC power cord that goes in the charger came loose from just moving the cord around and was partially unplugged. I found that it was loose, pushed it back in and it worked. Not ideal that it doesn’t plug all the way in and stay in a little better as it is easily pulled out just enough to not work.

This is an OK charger.You just plug it in, attach the cord, and the light stays red while charging. When it turns green, it will stop sharging. Just disconnect and away you go. However, no manual, no warranty. It does have overload, short circuit, overcurrent, overheating, and low voltage protection. OVERALL - Just a basic charger that will wok with any 12 amp 48 voly EZGO RXV cart.
