I just received this little tiller yesterday and it only took 30 minutes or so to put it together. I have a small garden (6' x 30') to turn over. I put in 2-5 amp DeWalt batteries (I have several different DeWalt batteries) and it went through the entire garden in about a half hour. I was surprised at how much power it produced. This morning I put in 2-2 amp batteries to see how that would work and they only lasted about 10 minutes as I did a deep dig into the soil to remove rocks and roots than were left over from using a shovel over the past years. The tiller is pretty light (compared to a gas tiller) so it was easy to move and manipulate. I hadn't used a tiller in several years so I had to get used to how to handle one again. I found that for me, the best method to break up the soil was to let the till move ahead 6"-8" and then dig deep as I pulled it backwards. Since it was relatively light, it was fairly easy to pull backwards. Can't do that with a gas tiller because they are heavy and will wear you out. The wheels are small so it tends to turn over on it's side when rolling it over the grass. On a solid surface it rolls fine. The 5 amp batteries are a close fit so they can be a little vexing getting in and out but not really hard. Overall it did a good job and I think it's going to be exactly what I needed for my small garden. Next week I will clean the chicken coop and till in the manure. It's only been two days so if it doesn't last, I will revise this review in the future. ... show more

    • Through rocky hard soil!

We got this because we own a lot of DeWalt tools, and it works! We love the convenience of having a cordless tiller, however, we prefer a different brand that we got that was corded. This one is nicer in that it's got slightly bigger tines, and it also doesn't spit up as much dirt on you, but we did choose one that has more power because it's corded. The functionality of this one will work quite well though for most uses. And I'm saying that from the standpoint of extremely hard Earth and a lot of rocks. Smaller medium size rocks that can go in between the blades, but nothing jammed up for us. We did have to clean out the long grasses occasionally. And we made sure remove the battery when doing so. It worked really well at digging up the Earth! And for most people with smaller gardens that have been tilled previously, or more patience😅, this will work great. But we're trying to till an enormous area and we wanted to have a lot more strength and speed consequently. I can easily recommend this one, even though we chose a corded one. It does give you good power and it does till up hard and rocky soil. It It requires a few extra passes though because it's not quite as strong as a plug-in kind, or for that matter. A gas kind I would guess. I've never owned a gas one but I've had friends who've used them for me. If you have a DeWalt battery and you like the convenience of not having to wrestle with the cord, then this one is for you! Excellent unit. Bought it for my wife and she is able to use it without any difficulty whatsoever. It is a light unit and is easier if the soil has been tilled previously. Make no mistake, this is not a toy. It does work, and works quite well.

It does a better job than the ACE brand rotoriller I had before. I LOVE that it is battery operated! I THOUGHT the batteries would be about dead after going over my garden twice, but they were still 3/4 full!!!

I was really unsure about this tiller at first. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. It's light enough for me to lift, strong enough for my flowerbeds. After reading reviews I went for it. I'm glad I did. I already had batteries from Dewalt tools which was nice.

I will start out by saying I purchased this item even though it had only a handful of reviews. This is the first time I've broken my own personal guidelines for purchases. Prime reason for me doing so is that I have had very good success with other tools from this maker. This tiller is quite easy to assemble, and the owner's manual is clear and easily understood. Assembly time 10 minute or so. The tiller is well built and has a quality feel to it. So far, I've used it twice for a total of 20-25 minutes. I am extremely impressed with its power and capacity to till my somewhat damp clay soil. This machine has exceeded my expectations for ease of use, power, and low drain on my 2 Dewalt 20v 5ah batteries. There were no issues with battery fit or release. Both batteries were fully charged and indicated they were still at full strength after use. At this point in time, I am very impressed with this tiller. This is a great find! ... show more

Light weight tiller does a good job of turning previously tilled soil. Digs deep once soil broke up! Slight issue of batteries being difficult to remove and must work hard to get them seated properly. Not a lot of room for my big hands. Turned my 600 square foot garden on single charge with 8 ah batteries. Nice to not jerk my guts out trying to start a gas engine ... show more
