I live in a 3 story home so having a 2nd step ladder upstairs is a big time and energy saver from having to grab my main ladder in the garage. This ladder feels very sturdy and well made, I’m around 300lbs and it seems to support me well with no creaking. I don’t know about the listing claim of being able to support 800lbs but I also don’t know how you could physically fit more than 2 people on a 2 step ladder so I doubt exceeding the limit will happen. My only negative so far is the horizontal support bar on the 2nd step in the back where the yellow bracket locks into place seems a bit undersized and the welds holding it on don’t look like they are the best/cleanest welds. That being said so far after using a couple times it has held up ok. I will update if anything fails in the coming months. I’m 6ft 3 so I am already on the taller side but having this ladder makes things like changing a smoke detector battery or my whole house air filter much easier and safer than my previous strategy of grabbing a chair or ottoman. I plan to keep it on my 3rd floor hall closet to use for whatever comes up.

The thing I hadn't noticed was the lock on the top step. When I open up the ladder for use the top step has a locking mechanism which clips onto the horizontal supporting bar at the front of the step. This is a nice feature to keep the step from unintentionally folding while being used. I don't know about 800 pounds but at 200 pounds I'm perfectly comfortable on the top step. The frame is stable and I don't slip around on the step. I have found this quite handy as I worked on a kitchen cabinet cleaning project. The step allowed me to get up to where I could see into the top shelves as I used a steam cleaner to deep clean and sterilize the surfaces. Note: I got the two step so while I can get to the top shelves I am a little shy getting to the top of the cabinets themselves. This is perfectly fine as I have more uses for the two step than dealing with the larger, taller multi-steps. Overall, this is a stable platform that allows you to get comfortably to some taller shelves and it stows away compactly.

As a big guy, I hate the market of step stools for average-weight people. Most of them are poorly constructed and questionable as to whether or not they'll hold up not just to a person's weight, but over time for even an average person. As a result, I've opted for single-piece step stools that don't fold and are annoying to store. This step ladder is remarkably stable and holds me up without me feeling unsafe. It's quick and easy to open and place where I need it, and folds with less effort than most similar step stools. It's made of very sturdy materials and doesn't even sound tinny like most step stools. This one is definitely worth the purchase.
